Im always remiss to say anything negative to techs bc I was one long before todays Technology. People chewed me out for the smallest things, so I appreciate a tech's generousity. Im putting my negative comments below the "more" option, in hopes you will afford your viewers the courtesy of advising them to only reset the remote if you have a backup. Now Im saying this after 8 hours of sitting here stewing and being very angry because I did your reset & Not only did my remote stop working I could not navigate back to settings to pair it I kept on trying to do your reset again but now I couldn't watch anything on my Fire TV. I had to call Amazon, get a new remote and thankfully they sent it to me for free in 3 hours because oh my goodness guess what? you have got a bad reputation with them! All they wanted you to do was warn people what could happen & have a second remote Why can't you just do that why do you have to cost me all this time and Amazon all this money ?

It’s telling me I have to pair my fire TV with an Alexa voice, remote with power and volume buttons. I’ve tried it and it still is not working. Amazon sent me a refurbished. Firestick seems to work except for the microphone or Alexa.

I tried the first few options, but to no avail. Didn't fancy doing a Factory Reset, but decided to try it today. I wasn't too hopeful after everything else had failed. Surprisingly it worked. Alexa voice came back to life after the Factory Reset. I'd just like to know why it went down in the first place. Anyone got any ideas why?

Thank you. Your steps worked. Even Amazon tech support couldn't get my remote to turn up and down the volume or get the power button to turn on and off my cube and my Vizio.

I miss having Alexa wake me up for work. I've been late almost the entire 2 months because I had gotten so used to her. You guys are great.

I just went to the settings, controlled & Bluetooth devices, voice remote with Alexa, add new remote and then holds home button and once is discovered hit the select button and that fixed it as well. No replacement remote just the one the tv came with or logging out of accounts or factory rest needed🎉

Before anything else, try taking out the batteries and putting them back in. Worked for me.

It worked...it took the deregister/re-register option. And this was with a replacement remote that has the streaming brand name buttons at the bottom ...so not an actual Amazon remote. But with power and volume control and voice. Thanks to ur video I now have all of them working with the 4k firestick TV. thanks!

Finally a solution! It was under the manage equipment. Change it to ic-8 HDMI CEC and the voice control now works again. I had purchased a new fire stick and tried it on other TVs and nothing worked until your solution. Thank you
