This is the type of video that KZbin’s algorithm should be pushing. I’m new to shotguns and I’ve been doing some research on safety and manufactures. Especially on how to handle a firearm when your at a gun shop, and this video was quick and to the point. Thanks

Thanks kinda needed this. I wish there was a into to pistols classes that uses a 1911 or a revolver. Every shop I see uses a Glock 19. Nothing against it but a Glock is so basic that it is harder to transfer to anything that isn't a semi automatic polymer handgun. I fired a Glock 19 at my local range before as a rental. A week later I wanted to try a 1911 and I didn't know how the safety worked in combination with the hammer, and I failed the weapons check looking like an idiot. Been going to a store that has 1911s and I been practicing holding them and familiarizing myself with how the firearm operates. So I been getting better and will go back to that range soon once I feel I have become familiar enough.

Great video. Unfortunately most people aren’t as careful and systematic as you. For most people having a gun in their home for defense creates a much more dangerous situation than not having one.

just one question. If you see a round in the chamber when you pull the slide, will the gun fire when you let it slide back?
@AKJames762 Жыл бұрын
If there is a round chambered, when you pull the slide back, the chambered round should eject if the firearm is functioning properly. If you are talking about a round being fired and getting stuck, that's called a "squib" and can be very dangerous. If you have a squib and fire a second round, the firearm will most likely have a catastrophic malfunction and possibly cause a rupture in the barrel and possibly injury or death to the person firing it. If this is what you're referring to, do not fire the gun, take it to a gunsmith immediately.

Today at bass pro a few guys said that your supposed to look down the barrel from the dangerous end to see if there are any barrel obstructions after its proven safe......that's not proper practice is it? That would be dangerous no?
@AKJames7626 жыл бұрын
If they were employees then bass pro needs to replace them with someone with a brain. I always pull back the charging handle, point the muzzle towards the light and look through the breech.

just curious, which one would be your preference for home defense? I choose the shotgun because that's what I have at the house. cheap, effective and devastating to any threat.
@AKJames7628 жыл бұрын
while shotguns are usually my first preference and first suggestion for HD because of the points you listed, I go with a handgun because of how my home is laid out. I would give myself away to easily to an intruder with a long gun and it would be a tad cumbersome in that situation and i need flexibility as well as maneuverability. that was my go to when i was living in apartments though. i would also be ok with an AK or AR pistol. I've discussed it at length with the wife and there is adequate protection in my neighborhood based on how its laid out that would nullify the worry of overpentration.

AKJames762 I'm looking for an AR or AK for home defense. But I make due with what I have.

+The genius prepper i agree with the shotgun definitely. With rifles you have to make sure you won't cause any problems to people outside your home in the event you need to use it in a defensive situation
@thegeniusprepper32258 жыл бұрын
AKJames762 definitely, you can't go wrong with a shotgun.
