The SSG 82 or in it's German name, "Scarfschutzengewehr 82" which meant "Sharpshooter Rifle 82". It wasn't made by Styer who also had a rifle prior that had the name naming structure as the SSG 69. The difference between the 69 and 82 is that the 69 was built using Kar98K bolts that were left as surplus back in the 60s and they just refurbed it, slapped a new rotary mag design with it around a synthetic stock and made it the SSG 69 to be used by militaries and police force whereas the SSG 82 was made for the East German Stasi in mind first.

The Blaze can also be fired in double shot. So you shoot both .308 rounds at the same time. Great if you can successfully land both shots, so it can take down a player quickly. In single fire mode you can let off both shots without needing to leave your sights due to it not having a bolt vs other 308 rifles like the m70 tundra ot savanna. Making it one of the better rifles for players who are great at landing those shots. With its only downside is loading both shots back in. It can also be equipped with a generic Hunting Scope too.

That modernized AUG at 2:35 isn't based off the AuStyer (the Australian military's version) its just the AUG A3. Meaning it wouldn’t have the holes on the side to cool the gun like you said. They actually made a mistake with the in games model though. They're using the NATO version which only takes AR-15 style magazines. You can tell by the lack if a bolt release on the left side of the mag well. This means that the waffle mag shown on screen actually wouldn't seat or feed properly. Sorry, I'm a bit AUGtistic.

I think the Vaiga reload is more plausible than Jonathan Ferguson, the keeper of Firearms & Artillery at the Royal Armouries museum in the UK which houses a collection of thousands of iconic weapons throughout history gave it credit for. The character in the game rotates the gun 90 degrees so that the ejection port is almost straight up which means that the round can be tossed in with the left side of the chamber as the "bottom" to rest on and have it be less likely to flop out the magazine well of the gun than when it is being held upright. I don't have the gun to test it but I would think the different orientation would at least help with pulling it off.

Fun fact: the "zombies" in DayZ aren't actually zombies. They're still alive and are just "infected". The survivors are just immune. So, killing the infected doesn't require killing the brain or anything extra. Also, the Z in DayZ does not stand for zombies, instead it's for Zero referencing how to mod would show how many days you have survived.
@TheSundayShooter6 ай бұрын

DayZ = Day Zero for Infection and yes they can be call at Zombies/undead. DayZ was builded on concept of movie "28 days later" where infection spread through physical way and actualy kills most of the brain and left of primal sences. Survivors aren't Immune they just dont get physicaly infected. Thats something DayZ mod and DayZ Standalone(alpha version of current game) had clearly visible on the table. If your character get infection and dies on infection. Character will get up after couple minutes and wander around like the other Zs with all your stuff except the weapon in your hand. Sadly it's caused couple funny glitches where players characters after being reanimated were, actually immortal. You can shot them down and loot but they eventually get up back or make your next character having this glitch on in and never actually died. And full release get rid of this function until they made it work correctly.

The best way ive found to do a single shell load on a Saiga 12 is, use your left hand gripping the reciever with your four fingers holding the shell in the magwel, while pressing upwards on the shell ( almost like your fingers are the magazine spring) pull back on the bolt untill it clears the shell and it pops right into place, gently let the bolt go home. With practice you can get very good at it. It is semi practical too because it allows you to have one in the chamber and then put in a full mag

Inventory management in DayZ is very important, so I could see the desire for having a powerful gun such as a Mosin but wanting to take up as little space as possible. 15:35 I think the concept of suppressors wearing out comes from the very very early models which tended to make much higher use of rubber wipes and washers which would wear out after only a few shots, and much less durable baffle construction such as stacks of wire mesh, or packing material like steel wool. The welrod used internal rubber washers that were penetrated by the first shot, any subsequent shot being significantly louder unless they were replaced.

1:15 Jonathan suggests that if you're aiming at something with the sights that an over-and-under rifle is going to strike different points from each barrel, which, yes, it will, but it's going to be the same inch or two difference that the barrels are away from each other. He also implies that distance will make a difference, and it just won't. If you draw the arc that the bullet fired from the top barrel makes, there is no reason to think that the arc made by the lower barrel's bullet will be any different other than shifted down by the same distance the barrel is shifted down. If you were concerned about where it hit the ground, it would be a big difference, but you're not. You're aiming at something effectively vertical.

The short barrel in the Aug is the 16.4" barrel. It's not 16“ exactly so it is long just enough that you can mount a bayonet catch right at the gas port block and it would match the end ring of the original (as shown by Jonathan) muzzle device. But there are also true 16“ where the regular NATO sized bayonet wouldn't fit. Both were in use by Australian Defense Force - the longer with bayonet I saw in use by paratroopers and the shorter without one by sappers. I think now the EF88 compromised on 18" barell or so and there is no longer a 'carbine' version. The 'carbines' as they were named in Australia are about as short as mk18 yet they have 6" of extra barell. I made one for airsoft (by basically hacking off a long one's barel) and it is a great PDW - I run a ADF kit and I wanted something smaller to have to complement my SR98 (L96). Also recently Forgotten Weapons had video on AUGs from Falkland Islands Defense force who had normal 20", the long ones as support weapons and those exact 16,4". And they are also in use by Austria's SOF. I think that muzzle device in game exists in airsoft as a A3 version, but I'm not sure about it's reality.

The "modernized" aug as you call it is a very faithful recreation of the steyr aug a3 m1.

I think that's just the AUG with the 16" barrel. I imagine that Jonathan is more familiar with the 20" and 24" military versions due to the nature of the collection he deals with, but civilian AUGs in the US tend to come with 16" barrels as standard. Mine did, though I quickly bought a 20" because it's cooler and have been looking for the 24" as well.

Our Austrian Military Special Forces unit the Jagdkommando use the Steyr AUG with an 16'' inch barrel and a special lowered 3x version of the classic Steyr AUG Scope. The Police Secial Forces Cobra and WEGA are using the AUG A3 also with shorter barrel. Either with 16'' inch or 14'' I am not sure right now

@@Black0raz0r The new rifles purchased in the mid-2010s were reportedly ordered with a 14.9" barrel. I suspect that this is the new basic rifle in service with the entire police. Especially since WEGA was equipped with StG77s - which are no longer in service AFAIK. I also concur with the original comment here that Johnathan is likely only familiar with the Steyr AUG A1, Austeyr F88 and AuSteyr EF88/F90 variants and not really with the A2 or A3 variants. (The former having been in service with Commonwealth forces that likely supplied examples or information to the Royal Armories).

Funny you mention the suppressor bit as that's part of a slightly hot topic about the game atm lol. They wear so quickly in game as the main balancing reason due to how OP they are in a PVP open world game.
