Terrific video here very well done, filmed and described!! Wasn’t sure about this expansion but now I’m sold on it. 4:34 When you started illustrating WHERE you can place those crevice spiders, wow...you crafty devil!!!! Omg the cooter pad! Wait, SURROUND someone with spiders?! Fantastic! Points well made, a great expansion! 👍👍

I had chance to play this with Luke on Sunday and was very impressed with this expansion. It added a much better change to this already great game. Highly recommend picking it up.

Thanks EctoVaper, glad you enjoyed the game, I think it compliments the base game pretty perfectly.

House rules to fix imbalances between Spider Springs and other expansions: Crouching Tiger-Hidden Bees: Whoever releases the bees gets to move the spiders around the main island how they want Wreck of The Crimson Cutlass: 10-point snapshots are treated like treasure, being taken from the player that has it if they get knocked over by a fireball

It's amazing what you pull out of that attic every time have you ever thought going back into model railroading again or model Railway I mean or buying a used train set if I were you I would do it it's just my thing

Oh this is a brand new game, it's not a vintage one. As for trains, I used to have a massive Hornby railway as a kid but I sold it, I've regretted it ever since, I had meters of track, dozens of engines, dozens of carriages and rolling stock, stations, water towers, tunnels, scenery...sold the lot. Wish I hadn't. Model railways aren't a cheap hobby either but it's something I can see myself getting back into one day.

Look up the old card game called Water Works. It was a really cool game in the 70s. They go for alot of money or they used to, on ebay.

Great video, just wondering if with a group of 4 or 5 do you ever cut out any of the expansions/ parts of the expansion, I ask this as I'm interested in picking the game up a probably one expansion (for now). I'm leaning towards either this one or crouching Tiger Hidden bees. Been marathoning your channel, watched nearly all your videos across the last week! Thank you and keep up the great videos.

Hey thanks for watching, glad you're liking the vids. Generally speaking, I don't use the injury cards that come with the Kickstarter deck, the fact they last all game should you take one and theirs some real stinkers in them, they don't get played with much. Of the two expansions I'd definitely recommend Spider Springs over Crouching Tiger hidden bees. As I say in my video, there's a lot more opportunity to use the new add on through the regular board than there is with previous expansions. The tiger is near impossible to get it to hit and land where you want. The bees are great, but the tiger not so much. But you can opt to just play with the bees should you get it, just remove all the tiger cards out the action deck and you're good. It's what I like about this game, all the little ways you can tailor it to your tastes

@@downfromtheattic thanks for the suggestion, thought you might say that based on the video, will have to get hold of the base game and spider springs. Also a game suggestion for the channel (although not super old) would be Rumble in the Jungle, great kids game with nice moving parts and bright colours, a similar but IMO better mouse trap, with a house rule of being able to move each others explorer (normally into danger) its a great game.

@@MarcusTheFunnell I've been trying to get a copy of Rumble In The Jungle, it's a Tomy game isn't? Fact it's a Tomy game and has ballbearings in it...well...I've been trying to track a complete copy down for a while now. The base game for fireball island is brilliant in itself, I'd recommend playing just the base game first, there's a lot of additional rules with the add ons that can complicate and confuse game play. I've messed up on rules before because of this :D

@@downfromtheattic yes it's a Tomy game, thought it would be your kind of game judging by your love for ball bearing games, it will make for a great video once you do track one down, did see one on eBay but it depends how much you want it like anything. Ok will pick up the base game first then before getting any expansion to make sure I'm into it, although it does seem right up my street of games. Look forward to your next video Luke, hopefully you see your subscribers on the rise as your videos are very well put together!

Really wish you had the original 80s version to do a comparison, would love to hear your take on it. The original is a much more cutthroat game of player vs player with a mad dash once the jewel is collected, where remake has so much going on its confusing and easy to lose track of it all

I've skirted with the idea of getting the original but I can't honestly see me playing more than I do this reimagining. Restoration got this so right, and it's a fair amount of money to shell out on something that'll get seldom used. The restoration version gets played frequently in my household, it's a truly fantastic game. Bernado from Tabletop Island has said the original really can't hold a candle to it
