I think he was crying because he sad the book, met the real Serguei and wrote the movie with other person. He was envolved with this story and he know the difficults the real Serguei met.

@@catarinavitoria22 Yes. Reading the translation of Sergey Letisov's book suggests many possible reasons for Tom Prior's deep emotional and teary reaction to "if Roman had lived."

This is such a sad story it makes me cry so much when I remember that his lover died, I am so proud that this story is being brought back to life and is not being hidden like so much queer media. Thank you!!!!

Firebird is an ABSOLUTELY beautiful film. The whole cast is fantastic and speechlessly talented!! To Sergey: Thank you very much for sharing your real story with us. You are in my heart forever!

This film was so deeply moving and so beautifully made that I honestly couldn’t stop thinking about it. You can really feel the passion that went into making it and telling Sergey’s story. The acting and the cinematography are both stellar. The building of Roman and Sergey’s relationship is done is such a perfect, classy, and believable way, and it kept me so tuned in from start to finish. While some compare the film to Brokeback Mountain or Call Me By Your Name, I think this film tops them both as it is a true story direct from Sergey, and not just a work of fiction. I just can’t say enough good things about it and am grateful there is another great LGBT film out in the world. I hope that it continues to spread to new audiences and get the recognition it absolutely deserves. Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of the crew and financial backers that made this amazing film possible.

Absolutely amazing sorry and beautifully depicted! I saw it on Amazon when I was bored and looking for something to watch and figured “why not give this a try” and I literally can’t stop watching it every night. It’s beautiful, it’s powerful and it’s real! And that’s whT I love the most is that it’s not just another “gay film” but an actual genuine love story and a part of someone’s actual life. Fantastic work in bringing this story to light and I’m glad it’s shared with the world.

I have no idea how this film got added to my watchlist but I’m moving and wanted something to watch as I packed. Did I watch the film twice in a row? Yes. Did I cry like a baby? Also yes. Did I pack even a fork? Nope. Absolutely spectacular job!!

Being based on true story, this LGBTQIA movie is very inspiring. Feel sorry to the real character yet also happy that they're able to express true feeling in their lifetime. I hope that their life story helps the new generations to appreciate situations compared to years ago. Though still ongoing tasks ahead, we remain optimistic since it's heading in right direction.

Tom Prior is a uniquely exceptional youngman. Admire his courage, passion, and his artistic vision, especially with the Firebird film project. He's clearly grasped the fact that stories well-told can change the world. Audience understandability from a film's actors is paramount, with accents only imparting the flavor of another language or nationality. Anything more gets in the way. Doesn't hurt a bit that Tom's also HAF. Moves his mouth in the most seductive manner when speaking which by itself puts him in a rare actor category. And then all the devotion to developing his body's shape and definition (It ain't easy!) proves just how committed he is to his professional career. Directors and producers take note: Lots of us want to see more of Tom Prior in major film projects. Do not typecast this charismatic actor or limit him by sexual definitions. Several major hits come to mind where Tom would've made a stunningly better casting choice for the lead than who was selected and merely "phoned it in."
