Firebox Stove

Күн бұрын

I have re posted this video after doing some color correction. my camera tends to shoot things a little dark so I bring up the brightness which washes out some of the color. didn't realize till I watched with my family and knew I had to go back and fix it. sorry for the confusion.
Family fun camping as we canoe our way through sixty miles of sandstone desert scape, beautiful red rock canyon cliffs with sheer walls, shooting straight to the sky & sometimes straight down into the river itself.
Tent camping along the way cooking over the wood fueled fire of our Firebox Stoves. We had spaghetti and meatballs, drumsticks green beans and mash potatoes and bacon and egg breakfast burritos not to mention making coffee every morning with my trusty Nano Stove.

It’s been brought to my attention that every time Steve puts out one of the awesome videos, I inevitably disappear (with all my Firebox gear) to some random backcountry spot, to have my own FB cooking experience. Does anyone else do this? Or am I just a “Firebox Geek”?!!😁 My food never seems to look quite as good as yours does Steve.... But I learn a little more every time. Thanks for the great videos Steve! You have a beautiful family.... and I agree with you, there’s nothing wrong with using a child as a boat motor! (A little physical training won’t hurt anyone 😂)

Hey Steve, looks like another wonder trip! The drip loop on your water filter line is a great idea that I’m gonna borrow for my setup. Pulling out 10 chicken legs to grill on a rafting trip blew my mind, but I hafta admit that you guys always eat well. Most important tho is that your beliefs and your values show thru your kids- they’re a treasure in today’s world! Blessings!

Another wonderful family video, Steve. Asking a question: what dictates the choice of the fuel you use? We saw lump charcoal, alcohol, a swedish torch log, and loose twigs. It’s great that your stoves are versatile, but are you choosing different fuels for the food that’s being prepared? Just asking. Maybe consider a video comparing the different fuels, and why.
@fireboxstove
@fireboxstove 5 жыл бұрын
I do have a video like that. I'll use a swedish fire torch if I'm cooking multiple things one of which include boiling water, to tolerate the extreme high temperatures of that particular part of the fire cycle. I use coals if I need to heat the top of a dutch oven arrangement or if I need a very low long lasting heat. Probably use twigs and sticks if I just have one aspect to my cooking project. sticks are quite versatile you can do just about anything with them but they require a little more fire management. Thanks for your question!

I absolutely loved this video!! Thanks for sharing it. I just bought a Firebox Stove and now I'm excited about using it Just watching your cooking techniques was incredible. There are a couple of pieces I'll need to pick up and add to my loadout. I've been contemplating buying a canoe as I have a kayak that is a little short on pack space. Anyway, your meals looked extraordinary, especially the spaghetti and meatballs, my favorite comfort food. You know, I was so fixated on your cooking I never noticed any video flaws(?). Also, this makes me miss the Southwest even more. I was stationed in SoCal, Arizona and worked as a trailer-trailer driver based in Salt Lake City. Great video and will watch this again to get the techniques down.

Fantastic video as always, I'd like to get one of those firebox grills. I have a one burner duel fuel stove for truck camping, but the firebox is much easier to travel with.

I can’t imagine the food you eat at home if this is what you you eat when camping lol. It must be steak and lobster everyday :) The place you were kayaking looked amazing although I wouldn’t want to get caught there in a flash flood 🙈 thanks for another great video

I don't eat like this at home, mainly just out camping. But we still have delicious food at home. A flash flood would not be fun on that river for sure. Thankful it has never happened.

Your children don’t even know it yet but in 20yrs time they’ll look back and think wow my parents were amazing 👍🏻 nothing better than exploring the outdoors even if you live in a wet and cold Britain like myself :( it’s suppose to be our summer 🙈

Have you ever thought of taking the firebox to a show like shark tank or dragons den? Btw love the vids 😊

Ricky Daytona though I think any of the sharks would be willing to put money into the great products that come out of Steve and the folks, that’s also giving up part of what they have already worked hard for.. There’s pride in what they have already built in the business and a commitment to quality that you don’t alway get when you become a larger business.. Just my thoughts ..

The thought has passed my mind but I value my freedom far too much to have someone looking over my shoulder. I'll just keep keepin on... Just like hiking to one of my beautiful lakes, one step in front of the other. Individually the steps are easy and each bring me closer to my goals! Thanks!

Perhaps one of your finest videos yet Steve. Can the pot lifter be used to remove a hot lid instead of sliding it off?

I use klean strip denatured alcohol. If I can get it they make a green label that is even better.

Hi Steve, great video! Would storing alcohol in the trangia stove be advisable for an overnighter? Put the whole thing in a plastic bag perhaps?
@fireboxstove
@fireboxstove 5 жыл бұрын
Ya I would recommend a bag over it for sure. If you have the solder sealed burner it does not leak but a bag is always a good idea I have learned. Thanks!

Did you design your stove and all those cooking gadgets? They are cool. Do you sell those stuff. you should definitely market those tools to outlets like REI and Big5. I am very big into outdoor life and backpacking. Those tools are great!
