Man, Borderlands with my friends as a kid were some of the best gaming times of my life, I even enjoyed bl3 although not nearly as much as 2 but it’s just so sad to see the state of this community. I don't really have a side one way or the other but I will absolutely agree that what stopped BL3 from being the next BL2, minus 2K forcing gearbox to release it early, was the toxic positivity. Bad dev decisions being affirmed constantly by the community basically stunted any and all real updates from happening. How can the devs know what is good and what is bad when the only thing they see is a sea of good comments and the one bad comment being downvoted into oblivion and back so it looks like hate spam? I'm about 18 mins into this video and something that I just don't understand is why there is so much hate for glitches in BL3. Its a single player game so it just baffles me why there would be so much hate for Lilith Red Chests or Arms race exploits. Its not like this is a competitive multiplayer game where doing something like this could give an unfair example. 1 theory I have is that gearbox was wanting to somehow be able to create a pay to win system where you could buy gear or increase loot chances or whatever. I really haven't thought much about it, but who knows. Another one would be as simple as these stream team members simply don't want to make developers look bad by having glitches in a game. Which in the end isn't even that bad, glitches are in every game. What baffles me even more about this is that gearbox has actually mentioned glitches in their games before. One example is how they straight up mentioned the Craw Ledge exploit/glitch in BL2. They mentioned it and even poked fun at it. In the end I just don't know what it is but I got 40 mins more of this video to watch so maybe the answer is already there.

I do remember him hanging out with just about everyone in the borderlands scene online though, he got around more than most content creators and he was also a machinima partner (which at the time was a pretty big deal even with how machinima turned out in the end) I seen an old video of his from back in the day and k6 had a video about the same thing right below it and MAK had like twice the views k6 did, even with the passage of 6 years, I'd say him bahroo and yote were definitely the "big 3" of borderlands back in ye olden days. K6 was big, but now it's almost like gearbox propped him up to be the only big borderlands youtuber and With yote being gone and bahroo basically vanishing from the scene MAK was the only competition left. And when he exposed GBX on their BS, they promptly shat themselves and "eliminated the competition" so to speak. I'm about 99% sure the battle pass turned into the vault card because that's basically what it is, but gearbox saw the public reception to the leak and knew they'd be completely screwed if they went through with it. And it would also show everyone that k6, and GBX were lying, and that MAK was honest. They covered their tracks and played dumb. It's all coming to light now though.

It has been a long time since I had anything to do with the borderlands community and I am replaying original borderlands with a friend who has never played it before. We got up to New Haven and I was explaining how back in the day before Gearbox patched it, all the white chests in New Haven were red and how the community were pissed about the change. Of course now we know it's because they wanted us to play the General Knoxx DLC and not just spend hours farming New Haven. Some of us had it down to a science how fast we could farm those chests. I still think it's a ridiculous thing to patch out all the red chests in New Haven even all these years later and my friend agreed. Borderlands 1 was and still is a single player game. The fact you can play multiplayer with your friends or even potentially randoms doesn't change that fact. So hearing about all the Lilith chest bullshit, if Gearbox didn't want it to be a thing, it's a simple patch. What Gearbox loves is toxic drama because they know people are going to shit can their games. We've been doing it for ages. So knowing that, they will actively foster negative press but then they deflect it from themselves by creating drama between content creators because it's so fucking easy to do.

Watched the entire video, read all the comments. I have played BL 1, 2, & 3 for over 1,000 hours each because they are fun and entertaining, Never watched a gaming related video until about six months ago. Killersix became my go to, due to the varienty and quality of his videos ( and You Tube algorithms. :-) Since then I have watched a lot of other YT creators and some were engaging, many are not. I never watched one seeking affirmation or denial of my opinion about the game...just instruction or mechanics or locations. Could give a shite less about a You Tubers opinion. If you don't like a game, don't play it. If you don't like a video, or the person/persons who made it , keep scrolling. Best I can tell, the vast majority of content creators are in it to make money. Just like in life, some are better at it than others. If you are disappointed or hurt or angry about your financial position or your pecking order in the work place, reasses and do better, or not. Not interested in taking sides on a video game or the personalties involved in the cottage industry that depends on it . Come to think of it, not sure why I watched or commented on a "sour grapes" video. Anyway, I enjoy the escape and entertainment that gaming provides, not drama and divisiveness. So on a brighter note, looking forward to BL4.

I personally plan to be streaming live and trying to get funny clips on KZbin when borderlands 4 comes out but walked away from streaming and playing borderlands games for a long time. My highest ever viewed video was a live stream of guns to not use on borderlands 3 in mayhem 10/11 which only had 48 views. I’m against the big brand names of the community and I only speak my mind if I am talking. I have a discord account but haven’t used it in over a year. I don’t even look at twitch more than two times a year or worse twitter at all. Too much toxicity in them for my liking.

I’m still trying to figure out the end goal, “exposing” k6 isn’t gonna solve anything. K6s fans will still like him, and gearbox is still gonna sponsor him, there isn’t any point to this, does anyone know why mak has posted like a dozen exposing videos, it’s getting to the point where he seems obsessed. If mak wants to have more of a voice, then he should build his channel and maybe he can try to push whatever ideas he has more effectively. Posting exposing videos will not grow your channel, it will likely decrease your community, no one’s going to see an exposing video and subscribe, that’s just not how it works. Whatever the deal is with k6 he is at least doing borderlands content and going on with his life, mak is just exposing stuff from a decade ago

Hot take here but for the longest time it felt like K6, Joltzdude137 and moxsy were the kings for bl2 and bl3 making builds and walk throughs and slowly over time everyone else would drip into the scenes of BL2 and BL3, i always wondered why smaller creators couldnt pull the numbers or success of them and it seems they lead the charge, to me everyone else just didnt feel right or didnt have the same type of vibe i just find they were the best at what they do, K6 builds and funny walkthroughs, joltzdude funny builds and funny walkthroughs and Moxsy limit testing/breaking the game with insane builds when he was coving bl2 and bl3.
