He's not a good CEO that much is true he didn't let go of Grantham when he should have. But the game he lost his job and we lost on a two-point conversion at the end of the game lmfao as Florida fans we would take a one-point loss to Missouri at this point😂 in fact some of you would get on your knees and beg for it

Why would Lane Kiffin be feuding over Ole Miss future opponents (WF backed out) if he is considering leaving? Keep dreaming. You missed him two years ago and Auburn tried to get him Lane is well positioned for a National Championship. He can play that out and go anywhere he wants besides the dumpster fire that is Florida. Beg Mullen to come back. He was a great coach. He had MSU #1 in the land before you called him home so you could just fire him. Get your tissues out. You are about to get your feelings hurt. Spend the 100 million on NIL and get some depth so you can win a game or two instead of pissing it away firing coaches.

Kiffin's first year at Ole Miss was 2020 - the DC he brought in was DJ Durkin. So, Durkin was available after the 2019 season. What do you think happens in the SEC title game with Durkin as DC opposed to Grantham, same for 2021 against Bama? In 1 year Durkin took Ole Miss from 117th in scoring defense to 51st. Mullen could have brought in Durkin but chose to keep Grantham. That move alone probably makes UF 2020 SEC champs and in the playoff, then beats Bama in 2021, giving UF 2 straight over Bama, at least a Top 5 ranking, tons of momentum and saves Mullen's job. That one move changes the trajectory of the program and it was plainly obvious to everyone in the country, yet Mullen and Stricklin refused to make that move. Mullen can cry all he wants about being told 'no' when he was at UF - the person responsible for his failure was himself. Stricklin should have said "no" when Mullen wanted to bring Grantham back in 2020. Georgia destroyed UF on 3rd down in 2019. That's why they lost that game. The entire nation knew about '3rd & Grantham' and who was it that didn't force a change on Mullen? Scott Stricklin. He has to be fired. A confederacy of experts will always prevent the right thing from being done - and that is what we have at UAA and in the UF administration. People like Fuchs and Stricklin have to go. With donks like them around, things are never going to get better.

When Mullen was fired, Napier was the hot name, and he had elevated Louisiana to its highest level. At the same time, NIL and the portal changed the landscape of college football, and Napier was (and is) slow to adapt to it. Had Napier been hired when Mullen was, I think he would have been more successful. We don't know whether a coach will work out or not. Muschamp was a great hire, until things fell apart due to injuries in 2013. Meyer seemed like a sure hit, but when he broke down in tears after LSU in 2005 and lost to South Carolina, you could be forgiven if you questioned that hire. There's a degree of skill and a degree of luck in hiring the right coach at the right time, and very few coaches replicate their success at multiple stops, because every school is different. I'm rooting for Napier to succeed, I'll be rooting for the interm coach to succeed, and be rooting for his replacement to succeed. I'm just not convinced that Kiffin is the can't miss hire everyone seems to think he is.
@nickytorres662
@nickytorres662 9 сағат бұрын
I agree. College football is much more complex now and the NIL and transfer portal is the new recruiting basically. The question is how good or great of a coach will be judged based on how well you can get the team with chemistry. For example, I'm very impressed with Miami with all those Tranfers playing very well so far. I didn't think Cristobal was good enough to accomplish that. If they continue to play that way and ward can stay healthy, I think they can contend for the NT. Of course, they have to play almost perfect and no injuries but I would not want to play them if they make the playoffs. My opinion

With the humble pie being served to the UAA, the hire of Lane looks like it would be a smoother process today.

Sure it’s a little distracting but I think most Ole Miss fans and other well informed fans know that for Kiffin to leave Ole Miss would take a LOT and it’s doubtful Florida has what it takes to make Kiffin leave Oxford. Kiffin has done a great job of building the OM roster with talent and Ole Miss has one of the best NIL collectives in the country. Plus OM has made Kiffin one of the highest paid coaches in all of college football. So not sure what Florida can really offer Kiffin that would make him give up his job at Ole Miss, especially when Kiffin has complete control of the football program at OM. I love Dan Mullen, but this is exhibit A as to why he had to go… UF fans aren’t the only fans who want points. EVERY team wants points. That’s how football works today. Agree with the second part of your comment, but exactly what is exhibit A as to why Mullen had to go? Because he said Florida fans want points 🤔? The comment was made yesterday, not when he was coaching, and no coach would be fired because he said the fans want points. Mullen was providing Florida with plenty of points. I'm more inclined to believe he was fired for multiple reasons, some of them being: refusal to let Grantham go and hire a defensive coach who could stop the other team's offense: lazy recruiting attitude: lack of team discipline: lack of interest in bowl games, which was shown in the Virginia game (almost nobody paid attention to Florida's lazy attitude about that game which we should have won by 42). Those few of us who were paying attention were not at all surprised when Florida was blown out by Oklahoma and Mullen's comments after the game.

@@derklavierspieler7491 my point was that Mullen feels that need to clarify that Florida wants points, as if that isn’t what all teams want. He didn’t do enough on the offensive side of the ball as head coach, and I think he was fired mostly because of lazy recruiting. He has a defensive mind and that won’t work in P5. Any defensive minded coach who’s made it has either also an understanding of offense or B, hires offensive coaches who know how to formulate a good/great offense. Mullen had no idea how to put together a strong offense, and that’s fine. But he’s not a championship contending HC.

What did Dan Mullen do at UF to up UF's recruiting? Oh. Nothing?! It would have taken Lincoln Riley and staff to come into UF with his transfer of players from Oklahoma to win at UF. Even if Anthony Richardson transferred to Ole Miss in 2022, it wouldn't have changed Ole Miss record in 2022. They lost to Texas Tech in their bowl game which is just as bad as UF losing to Oregon State in their bowl game, which Richardson did not play in.

Happy Birthday Ali, Im more in love with the idea of FL hiring a general manager. I remember that GA was always able to get good recruits even before Smart. Would love the stability of having good recruits regardless of the coach. Lane sounds great but unfortunately, he probably wont like the idea of us hiring a general manager. Lane, please let us hire a general manger along with you, lol. BTW, we should be able to hire a general manager right now. Things have changed college is more like the NFL now.

I’m not even a Gator fan and I could have told Strickland to hire Lane. UF has hired the worst coaches in history and they fired Mullen the best coach they’ve had since Meyer. Complete incompetence from UF and now all fans are delusional as always saying what if. That should be the Gators credo “what if” Know what I’m saying lol. I got my popcorn and just love watching this train wreck of a program. Can’t wait until the special Olympics game at the end of the season when they play the Indians in Trailerhassee. It’s gonna be better than the player hater’s ball with silky Johnston hate hate hate 😅GOCANES🙌

Tebow for what position? Head coach? Strength coach? Perhaps he is not being mentioned because he has no coaching experience. Hires are not generally made for top positions unless there is a record of positive experience to go along with the hire.

Good grief. Yeah and while we’re at it let’s fill out the staff with former players. Tim Tebow - HC Danny Weurffel - OC Jevon Kearse - DC Lito Sheppard - Special Teams Rex Grossman - QBs Both Pounceys - OL Kevin Carter - DL Fred Taylor - RBs Chris Doering - WRs Joe Haden - DBs Eddy Pineiro - Ks Johnny Townsend - Punters Ryan Farr - Long Snappers Strength & Cond - Errict Rhett Or we could just fire Billy and hire an actual coach.

I don't think if Mullen didn't leave he been better than Napier. UF would probably be where Ole Miss is now over the last two years if he started with Anthony Richardson back in 22. Or would be knocking on the door with it.

Would Stricklin rehire Mullen? If you gave Mullen a recruiting coordinator / support team (same for NIL), it might work out this time. Even if Napier (12-16) won the next 12 games [not 14] at Florida, he would still not have a better winning percentage (24-16, .600) than Ron Zook (23-15, .609)

Napier's Head Coach winning % prior to this year was 66.2% vs Kiffin's 66.4%. Whoopi!! Napier won 2 Sun Belt titles and Lane has 2 in the less impressive Conference USA. Billy never had a losing record in the Sun Belt, but Kiffin did in Conference USA. No, I am not defending Napier. He is the worst Gator Coach in 50 years!!! He deserves to be fired, but Kiffin is not the answer.

Ole Miss will not be a powerhouse with Kiffin. He's not the same person where he was jumping from team to team. He's a good Coach but will do no different at Florida than Ole Miss. You got rid of Mullen because you guys thought a coach winning 30 games in 3 years was mediocre. There was your problem to begin with. Miami is going through this but we'll see. Why would Kiffin go there? Again, the problem is the way to high expectations. This is no longer the era of Urban and Spurrier. College football has changed dramatically and Miami had to learn the hard way. Maybe Kirk Herbetreit can help guys out. He helped Miami out by trashing the AD and President out saying essentially how the program sucks there thanks to them.

Lane Kiffin didn't pan out in the NFL with the Raiders, more so because of Al Davis, but he did pretty good at USC and he's done one heck of a job at Ole Miss. He definitely would create a buzz at Florida. Kiffin definitely fits all those traits, I remember when Tennessee hired him and he made the comment about singing Rocky Top all night after beating Florida, and I heard that and was like damn this guy hasn't even coached a game yet and he's going off. That is the kind of guy that Florida definitely needs in a bad way.

You will not be able to get Lane. If he wanted to go. Till February you would miss National Signing day, and the portal opening and closing. The Kiffin's are intrenched in Oxford. His mother, brother, daughter a Junior at Ole Miss, and his son is inspected to enroll at Oxford High school next year. until February. M aybe you should start looking at option 2. I don't think Lane would be it. Don't buy anything that lying ex Mississippi State Coach Dan Mullen had to say. Anyone who would get players to lie about there recruitment. From another school should be not trusted
