There wouldn't be any in the apparatus bays and depending on the age of the station the living quarters may not have smoke detectors nor sprinklers either. You would be surprised by the number of fire stations that don't even have standby generators incase of a power failure or disaster.

Because of the humidity and heat they would continuously be giving false alarms. I put one in my garage too and had to remove it.

Station is grandfathered in like many in the country prior to regulation mandates of sprinklered buildings, there are thousands of occupancies out there without sprinklers that technically need them but they were built before code changes.

My northern California city switched from pneumatic jaws of life type rescue tools to battery operated. They rejected a set of spare batteries the county ordered because they were off brand. Off brand lithium batteries from China tend to cause more issues than brand name. Lot of cheaper EV bikes use poorly constructed batteries and chargers.

I am grateful that no firefighters 🚒🚑👨‍🚒👩‍🚒 were hurt. Am I missing something they were awakened by smoke and citizens banging on the door. Don't they have fire detectors in fire houses, especially where they keep those vehicles. Grateful our firefighters all 9 are okay.

Come to think of it, I have smoke alarm in my own garage. I think the problem with garages is that vehicles normally emit enough fumes to trip many smoke alarms. If I had an EV, I would definitely get one.

If there’s no fire alarm and no automatic fire sprinkler system, they aren’t being compliant with the law. There is NO EXCUSE for not having smoke / heat detectors in EVERY fire station, LEAD BY EXAMPLE. Luckily there was no lose of life, but just burned up millions of dollars in fire equipment that could have been saved with a smoke / heat detector, and or sprinkler system. The fire service preached daily about the advantages of both sprinklers and smoke detectors, Come on, how many more Fire Stations and equipment have to burn to the ground before you get proactive!! Tax payers should be demanding better for their tax dollars
