Honestly, I was just thinking how surprising it is that she doesn't song with more power. Usually people who play wine based instruments are really good at breath control, allowing them to put consistent power into their singing. Maybe she's just not trained to sing like she is on her instrument?

Upon listening closely, it sounds like she's using autotune on her vocals...with her talent it's a shame that she felt the need to use it

@@mikecolby If she did, it might be an homage to the original song. When Pentatonix did their '90's Dance medley' they used autotune on the Cher 'Believe' part, because it was in the original; so appropriate.

@@mikecolby I think you're right, but maybe she just really wanted to do the song but doesn't have the pitch accuracy to pull it off. The autotune is an instrument itself these days it seems. But I'm with you, I don't even tune my backup vocals in my own music because I like the chorusing quality you get when things are slightly off.

This absolutely made me cry in a good way. This song is really special for me and my daughter, who has grown from my sweet little girl into such a sharp, witty, intelligent, talented, independent, and strong young woman whom I am so unbelievably proud of. The reason it's so special is because we each first heard the song independently of one another (she was living with her mom at the time) and we had the immediate reaction that it reminded us of all of our misadventures together when she was little and her mom and I were still married, and how we'd both get scolded for getting carried away having fun out together and often being late for dinner etc. Thank you for this gorgeous cover - please let us you sing more; you have such a lovely voice. PS, my sister recently saw you at BRIGID in Pittsburgh and said your set was absolutely amazing!

Damn, Ally, this cover is as good as the original while still being unique🤘 The pipes added a lovely sense of depth with this haunting, whimsy-adjacent quality. And the vocals were absolutely beautiful! I'd love to see what original content you can come up with in a melodic, Celtic folk metal band. The source materials are incredibly rich and profound. I always loved the lack of a Celtic creation myth myself. They believed that reality was a living piece of music without beginning or end. I guess that explains the accents hehe 🙂

I really like this version. It has similar sound to the Irish girl groups from the 90’s, early 2000’s with some Scottish flare. A very relaxing sound to hear. Keep the covers coming 👍
