If you have the appetite some time try toploading the strings with the shim see what you think, strings are slinkier top loaded. Not everybody like the top loaded tone, depends upon where you usually live on the amp, mid to high gain sounds are different. Clean some folks find top loaded a bit sweeter

Thanks for the advice plus it smells good.

@@2463Burgundystreet - That’s true and I have been encouraged by other players to keep a dryer sheet in my guitar cases. So, everything would have that fresh laundry smell (smile).

I thought so. Certainly beats the alternative.

The pick guard is made of multiple layers of plastic and can develop static electricity when you run your hand across it. On a single play Picard it could be even worse . And the static would be especially aggressive towards single coil pickups

@2bikeMikesguitartopics145 - Thanks, Mike. I feel kinda foolish, but relieved at the same time.

So what your saying is your static “Bounced" with that dryer sheet😅😅😅 If for some reason the plastic pickguard was staticly charged, it's possible that bounce sheet neutralized it🤔 Keep a sheet in your guitar case just in case! Haha

Bounced it did! Thats classic. Thanks for not calling me a dummy.

@@TedTalksGuitars Haha hey if it works, it works! 😁 If it is a pickguard static thing causing that, next time you change the strings on that, take the pickguard off and install some copper shielding tape on the back side all around the area where the pickup goes. That may help! 😉

@@j-man9457 - Thanks, brother. I thought about getting some shielding tape. After install new pickups and the input jack my confidence is fairly high (smile) - the dryer sheer incident notwithstanding.

@@j-man9457 - I think I saw in one of your videos you talking about how you use shielding tape in the spirit of the "train" explanation. Do you recall which video that was? I would love the refresher as the tape should arrive tomorrow.

@@TedTalksGuitars I shield most of my Toes except the Musi as they come fully shielded... I shielded the Sawtooth hybrid I just did!🤔

I'm sure you are aware you have a strong visual resemblance to 1988 era Roy Buchanan.
@TedTalksGuitars2 ай бұрын
Ha! Well, I had to look Roy Buchanan up on the Googler. Thanks for the introduction to what appears to be a great guitar player.

@smithctheo. I'm amazed, but glad I could introduce you to one of the greatest Telecaster players. I recommend his "Second Album" as best. "When A Guitar Plays The Blues" is good also.
