I purchased the 12" vinyl record back in early 1981 which I no longer possess. I just dreamt of this song last night. I kid you not! I woke up this morning with this tune in my head. Shows you how much I miss those days. "Love is gonna be on your side" was sent to me in my dreams from above. Disco is and will always be my favorite word. Disco continues but under different genre of dance music. The beat still continues and its 2022. Keep Dancing!🕺.

Actually this song wasn't Disco, it was considered a pop/r&b crossover it had the same path as Hall & Oates with their music "blue-eye soul". However that being said the song was built and developed around the baseline. It's heavy but it floats along plus the repetitious guitar riff in the background. So classic, 42 years later and it still grooves

Vivíamos la época Disco en todo su esplendor sin saber que su fin estaba cerca ya que para un año después nacería el HIGH ENERGY y la música cambiaba muy rápido en ese entonces, tenia entonces 19 y hoy en 2022 ya tengo 60 pero es bueno recordar y volver a bailar esto y he aquí una probada para probárselos, el que no haya vivido este tiempo, pues no supo de lo que se perdió , comienzos de los ochentas y todo era fantástico, solo teníamos que estudiar y cotorrear allá en mi querida alma mater (UACH), Saludos a todos los aquí presentes desde MEXICO..

The old days are back!! This song played for years on New York radio station 98.7 WXLO which later became 98.7 WRKS. Also played on 92.3 WKTU. Those were the days!! Those two stations were the sound of New York. Great stations that will always be remembered!!

But the disco never died in European countries and the uk scene has brit funk with bands like linx, beggars and co.,hi tension and imagination and later jazz funk level 42 , animal nightlife,shakatak,etc

Excelent analysis. I love post disco because it was very creative and far less mainstream with only passionate supporters hidden in clubs or listening to dissident radio stations ! Blame on the USA conservative fraction. 1983 was nonetheless a turnpoint and a renaissance for the genre. Disco which combined pop, jazz, classics, instrumentals and even country to R&B is the last attempt to avoid the fragmentation of music genres where each supporters remained now trapped.

I can recall back in 1980 till 83 here in Toronto, the nightclubs stop playing disco music. I remember walking into a popular disco in a hotel in 1981 on the airport strip and It was eerie. The music was playing loudly with disco music but the place was completely empty save for staff. People were starting to notice punk rock clubs and New Wave clubs were becoming quite popular. It made me so sad since I really liked the disco sound.
