She is a Chelon, a species of our own creation, but it was inspired by Grig of The Last Starfighter. The Simian is at Security and is Chief Security Officer.

@@Potemkin1711 Robin Curtis had put a lot more emotion into that line than you realize. She didn't look like she was just reading a line. Remember, Vulcan characters still have emotions, they are just better at hiding them, but they are still there.
