Just a mention, I know that we're not professionals doing fan productions but when we go to have perspectives a little uplighting or hidden led strips can wash backgrounds with light so then when we try to force perspectives there are no shadows.

The guy is complaining about people singing loudly and a headache to the point where he's on the ground reeling in pain. Why didn't they beam him up? I'm a fan of the science officer, but his character has more empathy than what he showed.

How can those aliens talk without moving their mouths?
@Potemkin17112 күн бұрын
The aliens on the ship are using sign language. The alien on the bridge is speaking. Both are interpreted by the Universal Translator.
@lisanidog81782 күн бұрын
I didn’t notice any sign language. Yeah the daughter had no trouble moving her mouth. Yeah it did occur to me about the universal translator. It’s amazing how many languages it knows how to translate.

@lisanidog8178 the uniforms worn by the Odobenos are an homage to the aliens from the Godzilla movie "Monster Zero" as are their hand gestures for communications.

The stations on the bridge are impressive. I’d have so much fun pressing buttons to see what happens.
@Potemkin17112 күн бұрын
@lisanidog8178 very few, if any, of the bridge buttons actually do anything. They're literally printed on plastic.
@lisanidog8178Күн бұрын
I’m aware of that. What I meant was had the bridge stations been real with real buttons and real functions I’d have fun pressing things to see what would happen and hope I don’t accidentally set off the destruct sequence. 😆
@Potemkin1711Күн бұрын
@lisanidog8178 they are indeed labeled and the actors do try to push the right buttons. They each even have a set of ergonomic qwerty keys.

This has shades of the Doomsday Machine. Commador Decker flying the shuttle into it to damage a little, then the Constellation overloading and rendering the Doomsday as Kirk beamed out rendering the planet killer inert. Sacrifice is the name of the game. These two will be remembered for their sacrifice.

@lisanidog8178 our stories tend to be science-based at times, after all Star Trek is science fiction. And yes, that phenomenon is quite dangerous.

I have this burning question for years. Can someone explain Star dates to me? Are they month dates, year dates or just numbers? Thanks to anyone who can solve this mystery for me.
@Potemkin17113 күн бұрын
Here are a couple of theories: We look at it as YYMM.%oY For example today , January 9th is the 9th day of the year. So 9 / 365.25 = .024 X 100 = 2.4 So the Stardate for today would be 2501.2. This system works for the TOS Movie Era, but not the TOS era, nor the TNG Era. We added a 0 as a prefix for our stardates of our productions set in 2300. So anything we wrote or filmed today would be 02501.2. Others have other ideas. Here's a couple of KZbin videos as well. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bHeQonSDrMacopo and kzbin.info/www/bejne/e2rQpouJjaqShJI Your mileage may vary, of course. :)

The folks at MTM have come up with their Best of 2024, and Starship Sagittarius' "Assault on PAX12" came away with three of the categories! Donna Chaney's talented work was honored with Best Actress, writer Bobby Nash's well-crafted script was regarded as Best Story, Ross Trowbridge 's excellent work of David Metlesits' fine model of the Akyazi-class brought the Sagittarius top honors as Best Hero Ship. Potemkin Pictures received top honors for Best Production House. Congratulations to all, and to the other winners, many of whose Star Trek fan films are really terrific must-sees!
