Lighting and sets are not bad. You should put some of the money into standard uniforms that fit. Most importantly, close the ships galley earlier, open the ships gym, and work off the flat guys. Almost all of the crew look like they couldn't pass Star Fleet physicals, unless they are from that high gravity planet, Tubbyflubby.

"Periphery" is a labor of love FF that alternates between full cringe & peak sci-fi fun including notable characters & catchphrases (e.g. "It's always Klingons"), multiple ST/genre/cultural call-backs & moments of legit humor. "Periphery" is def not w/out faults, lots of them, but possesses enough sincerity & charm to justify a screening.

Good quality uniforms, props, and set really help any fan film, but having the commitment and the passion for the show really shows through. You obviously don't just pay lip service to the official series, but a definite tribute and more. My only niggle is that the sound sounds a bit hollow ish, hard to describe, but you get plenty of Brownie points back for having subtitles for deaf old duffers like me.

Greetings from Ponce, Puerto Rico. The great power of Star Trek is in the fans. This is a whole new form of evolution, in which the imaginative capacity of the inner child, the ability to believe and persevere, and the will to achieve with wisdom, vision and heart continue to grow.

Nice Production. i think it might be worth you adding closed captions. I struggled to hear somelines the first time so I had to rewind and listen again :) I like the story though
@Potemkin1711Ай бұрын
@scottofengland it's my understanding that KZbin automatically generates closed captions. Am I wrong about that? We had some of our earlier episodes closed captioned, but it took a lot of work, and when we learned KZbin did it automatically, we were relieved.
@scottofenglandАй бұрын
@Potemkin1711 Oh they might not have generated yet as the videos only just come out. For me at least the options greyed out.

The other Federation ship is the Celeborn? An Elvish name? Commandeered by Vulcans, aka space Elves? Nice touch.

The other ship is the Starship Caliborn. The name Caliborn comes from Caliburn, another name for a sword called Caledfwlch in Welsh and better known as Excalibur.

@@Potemkin1711 hummm . . . well at least you're not alone in that thought. Whoever selected the elfin actors and actresses for Lords of the Ring appears to have chosen them with the Scandinavian origin in mind. Now that I think about it so does my sister. I though am more earthen, a forger of herbs and remedies, a gardener and keeper of chickens. I imagine that elves indulging in the same, which I would as well imagine of those occupying Wales to be partial too.

A little hint from someone who has worked on stage plays with bright lights, everyone should wear thick tight tshirts or even Lycra swimshirts under their uniforms to smooth out the wrinkles in the clothes and.... other bumps for a smoother cleaner more tailored appearance to the uniforms. Even a regular well-fitting t-shirt does wonders in smoothing out bumps, nips, and helping hide lines from belts, pant waistbands Etc and can basically press other things into a tighter, fit looking shape. Even the most in shape actor looks better with this smoothing effect when there is this kind of harsh lighting that can cast Shadows off of nips Etc, it's more flattering for everyone.

Very well done. Good storyline. Looking forward to your next release.
