Ride Along with Littleton Fire Engine 17 (now South Metro Engine 17) to two calls in Lone Tree and Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Both of the responses were medical calls - the first one from the station was to support South Metro Fire Medic 34 in Lone Tree, which is about 3,5 miles away from LFR Station 17. Because SMFR Medic 34 found a person in good/acceptable condition they cancelled LFR E17 en route.
On our way back Littleton Medic 17 got another medical call. For some reason MetCom (Communications-Center) didn't dispatched Littleton's Units concurrently but a bit delayed on that day, so our Captain decided to follow Medic 17 without lights and siren, because MetCom might add us to the call. After about 1 1/2 minutes you can hear the dispatch tone for Engine 17 and see the following response.
I'd like to say THANK YOU to the crew of Littleton Fire Station 17 on that day - as well as special thanks to Captain Pietrzyk, who invited me to visit the station and take a ride along. I will never forget that day! Thank you so much! :)
