One thing I did when I first got mine (it's a version 2 I think) was to lower the res to 760 even though I've a big TV. I'm perfectly happy with that and that made a difference. I think it used to overheat and lock up actually from memory, this helped stop that.

my third gen is pretty fast but I don't have a ton of apps downloaded either if you find a few that's right for you then that's all you need. Wish there was away to uninstall pre installed apps

Hi Adam, the only gripe I have with my fire stick 4k ( in the living room and bedroom) is when I am flicking say sky cricket to football for about 15 seconds the picture is very grainy then goes crystal clear, keep up the good work your info is awesome.

Hi. Since day one this firestick is slow when switching channels on an IPTV account i have. Im also running a vpn . Any other stick when I switch channels are most instantly this stick will take time to load the channel. So going from channel to channel on an IPTV is painful and it takes at least 5 -10 seconds to switch. HELP, as i dont want to throw these things out.

I Need Help. I am a aide I take care of a Veteran 73 yrs old. He has a firetv. I had it up & running when I was first hired a year ago. Unfortunately I went to work & everything disappeared. I have tried a few things but it's not working. I have amazon video working but all other apps aren't working. TUBI ETC. I can't seem to download any apps & the TV is extremely slow. The TV is all my client has to make life worth living. If you can give me some tips I will greatly appreciate it. Thank you

I don't have an issue an issue with slowness but whenever I hit the play/pause button it brings up BBC news. Really annoying when you pause a movie or TV show and you get the news come up. Do you know of anyway to disable this?

I don't understand why it's soooo god damned slow doing basic things? One thing I find particularly irritating is as I'm navigating around Amazon prime it starting "previews" I don't want to see that can take ages to get going and just piss over the whole experience. "Minimise previews as you navigate" would be a fantastic option I'd tick until I broke the remote. Maybe have a "show preview" button. As I type this I don't even know if it's hung totally or just hanging for 30 seconds as it pisses around loading a whole load of navigation slowing crap and .. black screen. It's crashed totally by looks of things. Marvelous. Amazon app on amazon device. Stable as a drunk one legged man. Edit:THanks once I restarted the damned thing I've disabled the featured content settings.

I have upcoming travel where Internet service will be spotty to nonexistent. I will have access to a TV with HDMI inputs along with a ROKU 4K Stick and a Fire TV Stick 4K. In the past I've tried streaming to both the ROKU and Firestick without Internet with no luck. Is there some technique for making this work? Assuming you can NOT stream to ROKU and Firestick with no Internet is there a way to connect a USB drive with movies on it to a ROKU 4K Stick and use the ROKU media player. I have one of the OTA cables mentioned on this channel for sharing USB devices with a Firestick which I think should work for the Firestick.

Hi Adam, I've got a 4k firestick max on a 4k ultra TV plugged in via USB into the TV. whenever I turn it on the screen flickers and only way to stop it is to put the resolution down to 1080/60 (which defeats the purpose) have you any tips to stop this please? many thanks

I have my firestick's power connected to a smart plug. I tell alexa to turn off firestick when I am done using it. My cords are behind the tv and not easy to unplug manually.

I have the firestick 4K and the home button doesn't work if I want to go home. It will work if I long hold the home button. I have the remote app as well and it's the same on that the home button won't work just the long hold will. Any ideas how to fix this??????????????????????????
