I started with the Firestick, than the Firestick 4K for several years each. I than decided to go to the Fire Cube which is now on all 3 of Samsung tv's. I purchased 3 Cubes over a few years due to cost. Very happy with performance of the Cube and the remotes.

Can't see how they're going to be better than the stick unless it's to do with the buffering, then if that's it that's too do with your ISP not the stick, since I got a pod it's been allot better no buffering at all

Thank you for the tip on the Fire TV. I have bought one for my daughter for her for Christmas. The one that you showed, on the Amazon website the information said that the 32" TV has 780p resolution, so I paid the extra £60 & got the 40" 1080p Fire TV that was £199.99 & was 33% off its normal RRP.

Amazon have also slashed the price of the Blink security kit as well and this is specifically because they have already released new models in the US. So maybe these fire sticks are being superseded 🤷🏼‍♂️

We have 4 Amazon streaming devices but like most others we will be looking to change that soon. We're sick of Amazon altering OUR devices! My advice is buy other products.

QUESTION: Do you know if there is any way to repurpose the Dot speakers? It's not worth the hassle for me to sell them, but it is too pricey for me to buy 'Google Home-Mini' replacements (I'm living pretty close to poverty level on fixed income). Curious if with the upcoming 'Matter' connectivity standard, if these Dots could ever work with Google-TV streamers? I think it's still early days until that standard being fully implemented, but I don't really know or understand how it will work. Anyway, curious what you did with YOUR Echo devices (and how many you had working)? TIA!

I have moved to the nvidia shield which I hard wired in. No VPN...NO DEBRID...= no buffering ...You get what you pay for. Flawless streaming all the way around.

The question is, are these likely to still be using FireOS, or are they likely to have the new Amazon proprietary OS on them? Bought an Android box as soon as I found out they were in the process of changing, but it might be handy for others to know.

There’s been no change with the OS no bud. They were taking about Vega coming (a while back), but Firesticks still currently run as you’d expect. 🍻

I don't need to buy a stocking filler 😉😂😂😂😂. My brother has one of those firestick max things and he has to reboot it multiple times a week because the damn thing gives him lots of problems. I wouldn't buy a firestick if I was given the money to buy one. Plus the user interface in the firestick and the fire hd tablet looks like it's thrown together for a junior infants class 2 year old. It's bloody awful. I'm using a Homatics box R 4K plus and I never ever have problems with it. I have it with over a year now.

There all dropping prices like they are year by year because people ain't buying them no more android boxes are far better with some of the apps that are out right now there that good Amazon won't let them on the firesticks 🤷‍♂️ don't get me wrong there's still some great apks on the sticks but android boxes for me personally are far better AV had loads of sticks over the year's I currently have the Amazon lite... And I use my box more a lot more
