Should have gone quiet whilst passing. Just a safety measure and simple courtesy. I actually stopped and switched off whilst on the way to a farm fire with the HPV to allow two horses and riders to pass me on a country road. Only took a few seconds and it was the right thing to do.

Legally i think they're exempt from most traffic laws, however they go so slow that everyone passes them anyway. Also we do try to pass them quietly. We turn down the mechanical siren and don't use the horn, and we try to get the electronic siren if we can
