Thank You for this historical jewel. Walt Disney was one of the pioneers that made America the most admired country in the world. Walt Disney colored the childhood of every kid born from WWII on. I don't want to imagine growing up without seeing the world through Walt's heartfelt visions. If only he could have lived another 20 years, I believe Walt could have continued to preserve the innocence and delight that molded the character of generations of children and families inspired to live wholesome lives.

It's ironic. My profile picture here shows me holding a framed original drawing of casper the ghost drawn by joe oriolo who's family were business friends of my family. Joe was 70 at the time and his youngest son was 35 and a NJ slumlord aching to be famous. This is about the time I was learning about how prevalent plagiarism in the entertainment world and just how easy it robbed the true creators. I spent a month with Joe and Dottie Summer of 1983. A bit over a month after I left them the true creator of casper, Otto Messmer died October 28, 1983. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otto_Messmer That is when Joe and Don started to tell the world their well crafted lie, soon to follow were the same brand of lies about joe as the creator of Felix the Cat, who's true creator was Pat Sullivan and Otto Messmer. Sadly not all of these creative pioneers had children who would protect their legacies. During my August 1983 month long visit with Joe and Dottie, I suggested that they make a little home movie about Joe while driving back to Woodcliff Lake, NJ from Manhattan where we had just had lunch under the guise of a Felix the Cat board meeting. Donnie exploded in the car complaining of the cost of a 35mm camera and such. Trust me money was not an issue since Donnie had just stolen $5Million from my father in business that he hide in a Swiss bank account with a monthly trips with a friend called Jergenson.

Walt Disney World wasn't exactly his plan (if Walt was alive there'd be one theme park and the rest would be EPCOT), but the planning and execution of the first 2 WDW parks and Disneyland is a testament to Walt's genius that he imparted onto those who worked with him.

Disney will be remembered by future generations, not as a cartoonist, but as an important pioneer of Multimedia and Robotics engineering.

Walt Disney was a rare visionary. I don't care what other people say; he was a great man, and his dream has changed the world for the better for many years to come!! That is, IF the idiots currently running his company get their heads out of their wazoos and start putting GOOD shows back on TV!!!

Believe it or not, before the Fair, a lot of folks thought Disneyland was just a West Coast phenomenon, that the most "upscale" East wouldn't go for it. Well, the popularity of the Disney stuff at the Fair changed that thinking.

Honestly, I feel he wouldn't. They've been horribly mismanaged over the years and especially in WDW, things are being left to rot (See: Yeti, Splash Mountain before recent refurb, etc.).
