What's the issue with Gumblar? I mean, I understand the reason in his actual effect, yes, he has an effect that can definitely be abused and make your opponent go into a minus and burn for 3000 for no cost. The thing that gets cards banned, though, is their execution. I haven't really seen many Extra Link decks with Gumblar, but I've seen tons of decks in general with a Firewall I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just looking to get educated a bit

I think the best use is probably in combination with topologic bomber dragon. You cant attack directly but if you're reducing a monster to 0 you could revive topologic , kill the monster , armory arm effect damage on top of the regular battle damage. But even still that's a bit much

All those Firewalls will not be named as such. There’s a reason Konami named it “Xceed Dragon” and not Xyz Dragon, and that’s because they didn’t want it to interact with the Z-arc boss monster or some of the cards from Arc-V which require the names of monsters to be Xyz Dragon, Synchro Dragon, Pendulum Dragon and Fusion Dragon. So these Firewalls, if they’re ever made, would be called something else.

Xyz dark rebellion dragon is the better rank 4 choice 9/10 time. Dark rebellion can cripple an opponents monster and his bis atk isn’t conditional and unless you are going for the OTK you will rarely if ever need more than 3,5 atk. If you have 2+ link 4 monsters you are probably winning anyways making firewall xeed dragon even more pointless.

I get how convinent the knightmare links are for removal but from a raw efficey point of view there is nothing that can beat xyz dark rebellion, Nr 101 silent honor ark, tornado dragon and castel in terms of splashable removal. I think the main reason why people are sleeping on them is that most meta decks that came out in the last few years had very little lvl 4 monsters. I think the only archetype with multiple lvl 4's in link format was spyrals. The one deck that was the most pressed for E-deck space.

Alessandro Mazzacani the utopia engine has the big drawback of requiring at least 2 extra deck slots. Something that many decks can’t reasonably justify. Specially since most meta relevant boss monsters right now can be targeted by either Castel, 101, or xyz dark rebellion. While they still are very good at dealing with threats the banning of master piece made them slot worse. But yes, they are still the better choice.

@@deadaccount2968we are already seeing good Cyberse monsters, Salamangreats are already competitive on OCG, Droll & Lock bird did not get lucky, the game was going on that direction since searching has become so much easier and it was obvious we where getting decks that can go +9 in one turn, and again it can come, nobody thought instant fusion was gonna ever be good, but here we are in 2019 and it's a very abusable card, also do not forget that if you give Firewall back to this card it'll do what it's supposed to do because you can even potentially use Firewalls effect twice in one turn. And we are gonna see more links right now the best type of Extra deck monster are links, their super easy to summon and you need links in order to play multiple copies of other extra deck cards, and this card is not hard to summon and has a good effect, we just don't have the monsters, wich we'll probably get because I doubt Konami isn't gonna leave us with only 4 link 4 cyberse monsters
