This is not bad at all. You can still see through the sides and the ceiling. It's a lot harder to see through, for sure, but there is nothing wrong with these. I thought these were going to be a lot worse i.e. standard metal cabs and sheetrock all through the shaft.

I will tell you this, Justin. I have a whole bunch of friends who supported my interested that they liked the old elevators better than the new. I think I have a video of a fast elevator that dates back to 1987 (still running strong), and 3 friends said on camera that they hated modernizations.

That sucks. At least they used a somewhat transparent material and left the roof original. Though the original always beats what we have now. I don’t know why this place even tried to look more modern.

They try to mod,but keeping another figure of old using modern,they add some drawing,shapes that even sounding modern they're still old,but sucks,these "laws of modernization" from California are nothing but jerk,they're destroying everything historic like they don't have money for maintaning

With California having a very strict elevator code, it’s likely that they were the one’s that pressured the building owner to do this. It’s a shame.

There are parts I agree and disagree with. For instance I agree with things needing to be A.D.A. compliant and safe. I do however question why they have a stricter requirement on fixture design compared to other states. For example Innovation Universal fixtures in California have a different appearance to make them compliant with state codes.
