Just commenting to note that for me the video is out of sync by approximately 19 seconds. Not sure why because I remember this episode well and not being messed up by the extra footage at the beginning of the video. I doubt anyone will see this but I thought I'd say something anyways. This is one of my favourite of Mark's let's plays. *Edit:* Just to update anyone who reads this, opening the video on my PC and downgrading the video quality to 480p does, in fact, solve the issue. Not sure exactly why this is, but that is the solution. Thank you to everybody who commented below with their own solutions. Glad to be able to continue enjoying this series!

I find it weird she sends him to check the lake for a bear where he randomly stumbles upon a walkie talkie and notes of their previous chat. Also if that main character was me I would've called the police, they have dogs and they can quickly scan the area. I'm pretty sure he has a bruise on his head for evidence because he was literally knocked out, you don't need more evidence than that I hope. This to me is a red flag, she is clearly setting him up. Also there is all these locked areas they don't have keys for... I find that odd. I wonder if it is to keep him from wandering to far or hiding or are setting the locked areas for his death? I wonder if they set Mark up for a test and he failed? I'm only listening to this series not watching it so I might of whacked some details. Edit: I forgot to edit this, so I won't bother and let my mistake be known. The walkie talkie tracking, they could've set that up to scare him into a trap so maybe that wasn't the ladies doing. Still, I don't trust her.

OK I know I'm late and there's probably noone going to read this, but I'm watching this for the first time so here are my two cents: IF this is just a psychological research, then I don't think it's about the effects of isolation. 1. If you do an experiment on people you need their permission and I don't think the effect on the results if the "testee" knows is big enough to commit a crime. 2. Why would they destroy that girls's camp or the lookout? Threre's no reason for that. Therefor I think it's reather about the effects of being stalked/hunted how far you're willing to go if not feeling safe anymore 1. The effect on the results if the "testee" knows would be much bigger (still not a reason to commit a crime, but there are a-holes everywhere even among crazy scientists). 2. By destroying that girls's camp you let them know "you are not alone". 3. People whose house got broken in don't feel safe there anymore. So by braking into the lookout you take away the one place Henry could escape to when it gets bad, because "they where here before". This was one of the longest comments I've ever wrote and noone is gonna read it. Whelp on to the rest of the series to see if its reasearch or just a psycho (or something completely different). Upon rewatch I noticed something clever. When naming the fire, and choosing ‘Delilah’ she suggests her middle name ‘June’. Henry then says ‘June. Even though it’s July’. July signifying Julia and June signifying Delilah. Henry is choosing to flirt with Delilah, even though he’s with Julia.

For everyone who's audio is unsynced, try playing around with the play back speed and the quality, I've seen that 480 on normal is the sweet spot, make sure to do it about 20 seconds into the video, and if that doesn't work, just try zooming in the video, so you don't have to watch mark speak and be constantly reminded of the fact it's unsynced and ignoring the early reaction time I guess

Just fyi, the military uses something called frequency hop. You have to time your radio with the others and it cycles through various frequencies so no one can listen in for more than a few seconds.

I felt that the plot here is like The Truman Show. Everything that happens points' out heavily toward that. I mean lets consider this... 1. The missing people, and seemingly inexistent bear. 2. Delilah receiving phone call in the middle of mountainous forest while having phone line cut. 3. How high the phone line that's cut that doesn't make sense to be cut by 2 drunk teenage girls. 4. The fence and mysteriously locked cave. 5. Julia calling from Delilah place. 6. The mysterious guy who not only messing up with his stuffs on day 1, but then turn out recording his and Delilah conversations and knock him out just to leave him. When we connect all that facts, they're altogether points out heavily toward The Truman Show kind of story. The protagonist here is unknowingly become the subject of game show, where everyone other than him knows, even Delilah may actually be an actress or the game show host. Lastly, the title of the game, Firewatch, kinda making a good title for a game show as well.

i'm suspicious of Delilah...idk why...but being someone who has worked in forest service before, calling these occurrences in would be the best option and sure as hell wouldn't cause authorities to immediately think that the person reporting is crazy. they would take it seriously and do something. if nothing comes up with investigation though, THEN they start to suspect something is wrong with the person reporting the occurrences. it's just odd to me that Delilah is so against reporting this stuff. they could eve just say something is up without specifying! idk...

I think it's some scooby doo shenanigans and the girls went missing because someone was trying to scare them off and they found out. They along with the missing lookouts son were all either killed or kidnapped for the same reason and they were trying to scare off Henry by smashing his stuff. Henry and Delilah are being monitored because of how close they are. There is likely some illegal operating going on maybe mining related or perhaps something to do with the fire and if it's been going for a while maybe it had something to do with Yellowstone. I think someone is cleaning house trying to keep it quiet. They will likely try to hunt down Henry as he and Delilah are the only ones who know about the girls. Something is off about Delilah too.

If you're having audio sync issues with the video change the resolution to 720p or lower. The 1080p version of the video isn't synced properly, a problem on KZbin's side most likely but every other resolution works fine.
