At your next open house reach out to pellet mill mfg stockpile sawdust/yard waste even take in tree service chips and make bagged pellets during the event. Feeder to hammermill to pellet press to storage and bagging. Lots of pellet grill and boilers with hoppers to fill. Hardwood smoking pellets. Great way to make heat in the winter.

Hi Joe. Another great video of common sense advice for firewood entrepreneurs. I advise people to start small and focus on quality of product, and the highest quality of service. Staying small is usually a more profitable business plan than trying to be huge. Just get started!!

30 years ago I was selling some wood and it was going for 35 bucks a rick. Then I found that apartments would pay more for less lol. I would stack wood on my tailgate 1/4 of a rick and just sit by the gate. People would stop and ask how and it was 25 for what u see stacked up. Man they thought they was getting a heck of a deal since most of them was getting those bundles. The colder it got the more I charged lol I think I got 40 for a lot of wood that year

I am no longer recommending Twisters for the very reason you say. I don't know what is happening there but the lady i was working with left the company. I will be showing a new wrapper in the near future. The Twister is a very good machine but there is poor response from the company.

You're implying Joe is somehow misleading people, @@kwebber9248. That's definitely not the case. Every business, whether it is a lemonade stand or a firewood business has lots of issues it must deal with. Equipment, supply, weather, bum customers, accidents, etc., etc. Joe has said many times that the only way you'll know is to get started, learn and figure out where you need to go. In this video, he said don't quit your day job -- start small. And he has been a model of that. He's not promising anything, but encouraging others to pursue their idea with action and integrity.

Joe, it seems to me it will be easier in the future to use the square or almost square wood splits you make off of the Eastonmade Axis for bundle wood. Less like figuring out putting puzzle pieces together with those angled splits you were using in this video..

5:03 - I can't help thinking, that big nut ought to be a star knob, with a through hole, so it has a handle. Especially if people with smaller hands and less grip strength are going to use it frequently... Might need a slightly shorter spring so you can get it on the thread, though...🤔👍🇦🇺🪓
