My TAJFUN RCA400 is one very capable machine. As a full time professional firewood producer, it’s a piece of equipment I can count on day after day- we may have broken a record today! Thanks for watching. Jeff

Nice setup of technology and old school know how! That RCA has two hydraulic pumps which is why it has such a fast cycle and has no hydraulic lag.

We have the same model. Only minor issues like Birch bark/twigs plugging the sawdust exit and one time sawdust got behind the plunger preventing it from activating the "fully back switch", so it locked up until we cleaned it out. Much faster than our old Pallax unit. Bought ours from Jason at MC Power.
@thelogfather50026 ай бұрын
Jason is great to deal with. Do you have the blower accessory with yours? Mine also plugs up and stops the splitter from returning home. It’s not an issue when it’s above freezing, but it’s a bit of an effort when it’s a frozen block! Thanks for watching. Jeff

@@thelogfather5002 It just blows it out on the ground near the PTO shaft. Might work better if I cut the center vane out to make the hole larger (probably a safety feature).

I’m very satisfied with it! It’s about as good a machine as I could imagine. I’m going to run 500 full cords through it this year, and every year for the next 4 years until I upgrade to an RCA500… Yes, I bought it from Jason, he’s top notch to deal with, zero drama, I wish all my transactions were as good! Thanks, Jeff

@@thelogfather5002 my 2001 jetta I left behind in Fredericton on my way back to Eastern Ontario from P. E. I. Water pump was leaking and no one was equipped to work on an ALH. I even asked if I could do it myself. 692000km. My goal was to reach 700000km. Everything worked. Ac etc. I paid 500$ for it and drove it for 3 years.

Thanks for showing this stuff Jeff. I was looking at getting a Range road RR25T but this looks like a really good machine. Now I'm kind of wondering what one to get. You had a lot of success with your Range road 300, we have a Range road dealer just 30 minutes from our house so it seems like that would be really nice. What would be your take on that if you don't mind me asking?
@thelogfather50026 ай бұрын
The strength of Range Road is the dealer you have down the road. I had a great experience with Range Road head quarters in Alberta. But my local dealer was horrible, wouldn’t communicate, was rude and generally left a sour taste in my mouth.

I sent the demo back- it was a beautiful little tractor- but would have been a lateral move- and very expensive. They’re going to see what else might suit….

It’s was a year old demo unit that I bought. It was outside its entire life- plus we live in a very harsh climate close to the ocean. I bet if it were new, and I placed it under cover, it wouldn’t have happened. I’m perfectly happy with it the way it is. :)

@@thelogfather5002 that makes sense . I think it fits your business model well. your forestry business is maturing at a great pace and you seem to really enjoy it which is a win win. Thx for your response . I’m chatting with a guy in your neck of the woods with a little late model range road never used from an estate sale for a reasonable price but can’t find a reasonable shipping source to Manitoba . He’s in antigonish . So it’s a ways from me.

Question for you jeff, i personally sell firewood aswell here in alberta, do you find your customers prefer smaller pieces of wood or larger pieces? i usually use a 4 way up to 8-9” and 6 way over that, my processor can only take 16”. I see you use your 8 way a lot even on smaller diameter logs
@thelogfather50026 ай бұрын
Customers are all over the place. On average most folks use it for heating in a woodstove- so 16” fairly finely split through my 8 way is fine- I’ll catch a few of the larger splits and send them through again. If it’s being used in a furnace, then I’ll make sure it’s larger pieces- ambient fires will be smaller pieces. There’s no ‘one size fits all’…

@@thelogfather5002Hey boss, planning to make powerpack for my Tajfun 400 who is arriving shortly in month or two. Thanks to you for your idea and video showing how you made it. Question is why you would choose TDI with electronics? Because I thought less electronics on engine and no turbo the better and easier it will be to make it work. Im in search of VW engine and have one in mind VW 1.9 Sdi 47kw (64HP) engine with gearbox. Waiting for your answer because it will impact my powerpack build🤣 Also thanks for your channel and great videos! Best wishes from Lithuania✌️🇱🇹
