Homelander is one of those rare villains who becomes more terrifying the more human and vulnerable they get, instead of the other way. That "what'd you say?" almost got me the first time I heard it, and I don't particularly care for A-Train's safety. The deal between Homelander and Butcher is such a good scene. You guys don't know what you're in for for season 3.

Characters (and the audience) being on edge 24/7 and being able to set him off at any time, even when he’s not near due to his hearing, is way scarier than if he was just a cold and calculated killer with no emotions. Homelander very rarely thinks logically anymore, he just acts on his emotions, and his emotions are INTENSE.

It's a bit sad how much Homelander steals the show here because Karen Fukuhara did such a good job in portraying emotions through facial expressions. Kimiko is mute, but you always kinda know what she feels or thinks about. Her character grew on me really quickly. Also, I don't think Kimiko understood much English in the beginning either. She just observed the facial expressions of Frenchie when he talked to her, which made her realize that he doesn't want to harm her.

Anthony Starr in Banshee is absolutely exceptional. And if you watch it, you'll see where he gets the Homelander facial expresisons. He's always been a very gifted facial actor. I think his Homelander role has really allowed him to put his individual chops together in a great way.

Tony knew that he needed to blind "Nadia" to keep her from popping his head. Armed with that knowledge, the guys might like to review the scene when heads started poppin' all over during the Congressional Hearing into Vought's activities - we can see that Victoria Neuman, while acting shocked, is looking directly - albeit briefly - at every one of the victims just before they lose their heads. Like the true nature of _Stormfront_ it was all being played out in front of our eyes, hidden in plain sight!

If you love the writing of The Boys you'll probably love Supernatural! It's completely different from The Boys as obviously Supernatural is older (2005-2020) and aired on mainstream TV so had to be less... well shocking lol. Eric Kripke is the main 'creator' of both shows. I really recommend Supernatural if you haven't watched it, it's really long (15 seasons, the longest running sci-fi/fantasy tv show in the US) so is a pretty big project to sink your teeth into, but the writing in that show is freaking awesome. You actually can see the improvement as the years progress, it just gets better and better. Antony Starr played twins in Outrageous Fortune (a NZ TV series). I honestly thought he was actually two different actors, twins playing twins, until I paid attention to the credits lol.

Don't know if you can see what I mean but I won't go into a rant about that otherwise we'd never finish here, lol. Gen V, I've just been watching to keep up with the story but you can only watch a show with the youth so many times before it starts getting on your nerves. But so far the guys seem to still enjoy the show and even though I agree with you about Gen V being a full tier below the original, I still feel like it's deserving of being in the same universe, so I think they will still enjoy it.

As a Kiwi, both Antony & Karl are so widely known here - I grew up watching both of these guys in an NZ soap Shortland Street in the early 90s and both were in Xena. I love that while the world is absolutely flabbergasted at the bizarre/gross/wtf things Homelander says and does in the show, we saw him on tv here in a show called Outrageous Fortune back in '05 and he has elevated some of his performances from that show almost seemlessly to this one. He did some wild things in that show hahaha (absolutely worth a watch even privately if you manage to get a hold of the dvds). Both of these actors are so good at what they do and it's awesome to see them be appreciated for their acting chops by so many too.
