So you start park riding. First trick : RAIL SLIDE! Hmmm🤔🤔
@brandon5204 жыл бұрын
my list would be 1.180 2.safety grab 3.box slide/ rail slide 4.270 off side hits 5.360 #1 and #2 could be swapped, same with #3 and either #4 or #5 depending on what you are feeling comfortable with
@danielrezanoff73536 жыл бұрын
Lol for “first tricks to learn on skis” this is totally unrealistic, I would say a understandable list would be more like, 1. Learning to Ollie, 2. Learning to ride switch, 3. Hitting some boxes and small jumps, 4. Experiment with some butters like a 180 butter, 5. Take those butters to air and maybe try a 180 of a jump
@TheBagOTricks6 жыл бұрын
To me riding switch and doing ollies aren't really tricks. When you're ready for the park (which is after you learn how to ride switch and how to jump off the ground) these are your first steps imo. I can't butter to this day hahahaha.
@CarsonScholz5 жыл бұрын
Lol learning to do butters before rails? Some long time park skiers can’t even do proper butters with lots of practice. Gtfo
@Nathan_Benson5 жыл бұрын
Daniel, the first three you have I would say are more fundamentals and skills. Not tricks. I do think that 180’s on side hits and small jumps should have been included and maybe switch 360 and 270’s because the three helps you get used to spinning making it less difficult off of rails
@brandon5204 жыл бұрын
I would learn 180's on flat before buttering them or jumping them
@RichWil3 жыл бұрын
If you can’t ski you probably shouldn’t hit the park. Practice basics.

Good video, I tried to get into freestyle and the first thing they tried teaching was a 180, I took a couple of hard sideways landings and all of a sudden it knocked my confidence and I couldn't commit to the rotation to land switch. Teaching 360 to land face forward makes much more sense. You've given me new motivation to try again from another angle, shame I don't live near mountains, thanks anyway!
@eriksorensen49357 жыл бұрын
Then the rails, i can do 360 on jumps, but not 240 on rails, that isnt to easy i think. I think that you should start with jumps then rails

You make a good point I learned to 180 and 360 before really focusing on rails. Now I am scared shitless of rails, I’m going to try to get it done this year. Would your number one tip for rails be confidence?

180 is more scary, but i think you should learn it before 360 because its going to give a lot of control in the air and in the rotations

I'm older, in my late 30s, but rail slides and spins are significantly harder than: boxes, daffy, iron cross, cossack, shifty, screamin, any basic grab (mute, nose, tail, safety, Japan, tindy). In fact, I've never been able to do a rail without falling, and it took me two weeks of going to the park every day to get a 360 and it wasn't even good. All the stuff I listed above except the screamin can be learned in one day.

I have a pair of all mountain skis and I am having trouble moving them into a 360 and I definitely have enough momentum and air time just not enough thrust any tips?
@obi-wankenobi98716 жыл бұрын
This might seem weird and I am not that good at skiing so dont quote me. I would try to not ride up to the jump dead straight. When 360ing my bike i ride up to the lip of the jump in a parabloic way so i can get some additional sideways momentum.

not to many new skis priced under 220 If you don't want second hand skis I would recommend asking your local ski shop if they have any old model skis because they are always cheaper but in perfectly good condition.

i disagree, the 180 is much easier if you start on small jumps because you don´t have to send it to hard and you always have vision of the landing which you don´t have in a 360, but i agree that 360 is much easier on a bigger jump,
@Lurppaaa7 жыл бұрын

Go for the box. Do some easy 50/50 slides then try turning your skis. Once you're good with that I'd say go for the rails.

I'm scared not being able to complete the 360 prior to landing. That's my biggest fear, that I land with 240 only and might fall on my shoulder (that happens once to me when trying to do a nose butter 360 and my shoulder was broken after :-( )

just "learn a rail slide first." Before any boxes? i think not. I learned 360's and 540's way before i learned rails OR boxes. Rails are definitely not a good first trick. And how are you supposed to learn how to spin off a rail if you cant even 360?

So i Think if you wann learn Tricks in skis you should start in all and some of These Jumps you are hitting in the video are way to big you Never should go to a big jump if youre Not comfortable, or you havent even tried it on small Jumps! And of course big 180 is scarier that a Big 360 but you dont want to start on a Big jump! And i would say on a small jump 180 is easier because you just Need The Commitment for a 360 maybe you dont have right away!
