I started with a brushed stampede 4x4 and converted to brushless, I ran it on 2s for a few years, that plastic center driveshaft never broke suprisingly. But as soon as I got a 3s pack I snapped it in half.

Ya it lasted for me on 2S, but before I got to 3S I swapped it out for a Tekno and haven't any issues since.

Sure there is a lot more you can do, I mean I would recommend every part that I have on my Stampede because it is perfect for me, but I only said 5 for this video to keep it simple for new hobbyists that aren’t willing to spend more than the price of the car to upgrade it.

Thanks for the video. Good quality info, presentation, and references. I have installed a few of these, ordered a few others, and have the rest on my wishlist. I have two questions about the Proline Body Armor. 1) What are the corner reinforcement pieces you added? I searched the Proline site but couldn't find anything like that. 2) Why did you select the Traxxas Maxx roof skid plate? Is that the only one that fits this proline body or just the quality of that skid plate? Thank you!
@traxrc2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the great feedback! To answer your questions, the corner pieces on the body and the Proline Lid Skids. I didn’t use all of them, only the small ones. That pack also comes with roof skids, but I don’t like how they looked so I never put them on. I talked to a subscriber of mine and he added a Maxx roof skid to his Proline Bash Amour body, island it looked very clean so I did the same. It matches the look the the body better imo than the Proline roof lid skids. I still think that the corner skids are very important to have though.

@@traxrc I am loving upgrades 1, 3, & 4. 2 has been on the top of my wishlist, but I have had to prioritize upgrading the moving parts first. All the parts for Upgrade 5 arrived today, but I have a question. The stock shaft and diffs have not failed yet. I know they will, particularly that short shaft. I did not install the center driveline in upgrade 1, but held that back to do with the diff upgrades. Would you recommend running the currently ok stock parts until they do fail, or pulling those working stock parts now and doing the upgrade? I like to work on the truck, so i'm not hesitant about wrenching. I'm curious from a $ value perspective on not wasting the stock parts that won't serve as easy backup parts after the upgrade, and wondering about any potential damage or undue wear on other parts of the truck if i do run the stock parts until the diffs/center driveline shred... I'm just curious what you think. I like your content and have a lot of respect for the work and time you put in to sharing your knowledge with all of us. Thank you!
@traxrc2 жыл бұрын
Personally I think that upgrading so that you don’t have issues in the future is the best move. To this day I have yet to destroy the center driveline and diff gears. Also, from a performance perspective, I noticed much more power when switching to the Tekno center driveline from my stock plastic one because it doesn’t twist under the torque. I’m sure that the stock aluminum shaft would be similar because it is hollow inside.

No clue… my Stampede doesn’t have that feature because it started as the brushed model. I personally don’t think that feature should even be on it though. Way to hard on the drivetrain that isn’t built to handle it.
