First Adirondack Canoe Camping Trip Of 2022. 10 Days Trout Fishing In The St Regis Canoe Area! Pt-1

This video covers days 1, 2 and 3 of 10 on my first Adirondack canoe camping trip of the year! Stephanie gets out for a quick overnight with me on day 1 and from there I am completely solo until I meet up with John and Logan from the ADK_Addicts later on in my trip. My first few days of fishing are a little tough with the wind, rain and snow constantly working against me, but I still managed to find some success. This weather would be nothing compared to what was in store for me later on...

LOL....I hear you about the rod. I would love to use a better rod than a Ugly Stick on my trips but I would just end up snapping it. Cant beat the durability. Canoeing during Easter sounds like a dream! When is the ice off there? Cheers!

Ice out happened around mid-April for these ponds, I was keeping an eye on it using online webcams and set out almost immediately after it happened. My Ugly Stick combos served me well for many years, I was just so impressed when John let me used his Halfling rod I knew I had to have one. Thanks for watching!

The mosquitos were definitely active earlier this week in the southern Adirondacks. The blackflies were starting to swarm but not bite yet.

Hey man, just found your channel and I'm really enjoying your trips. I want to get into canoe trips at some point. My channels more devoted to backpacking but I would love to get started canoe camping at some point. Looks really fun.

Canoe camping really is a total gamechanger. You can get places that most choose not to go, and the people you do see are usually like minded folk. There is a learning curve, but man is it worth it. Thanks for following along!

@@DaxWoodsWanderer It would be great if you did a little mini series for folks who want to get started in it. Maybe the basics for navigation, gear, and what you've learned the hard way so I don't have to :) haha

No trout in Copperas but big pike and bass
@DaxWoodsWanderer
@DaxWoodsWanderer Жыл бұрын
I lost such a huge Pike on my way through Copperas on my first visit, it still haunts me. The weirdest part was, it was silver! I honestly thought it was a Musky at first, but there is no way. It must have just been a discolored fish.

Great video my friend!! What lb braid are you using? and is it a mono leader below the wabbler? Love your trips! Would love to see a video on how you dehydrate your curry, etc. Thanks! Billy
@DaxWoodsWanderer
@DaxWoodsWanderer 2 жыл бұрын
I am using 20lb braid with a 6lb mono leader for Trout, as I start transitioning into some Pike fishing here in the next few weeks I will probably have to switch that 6lb out with something a little bit heavier. I can totally try to do a short video about the meal dehydration, thanks for watching!

Your trolling too fast for a lake clear wabbler

I will have to try to slow it down a bit more next time I am there. I have a spot in the southern Adirondacks that seems to produce fish for me quite consistently at the speed I usually troll, but I appreciate the advice and thanks for checking out my video!
