First alert fire extinguishers are filled with a pink Chinese ABC dry chemical, when fire extinguisher technicians refill these, they often recharge them with purple K as a mistake.

That's why you don't buy first Alert. you always buy Amerex. They're the best fire extinguishers.

That's why you gotta spray a pinch of wd40 on there after a good few years. I have an Amerex B417 (2.5 lb abc dry chem) that squeaked like hell when I tried discharging it on a test, even bent the handle because the valve wouldn't open. Dangerous stuff, keep your valves lubricated in case you need to use one!

Apologies for the delay! Yes this fire extinguisher can be used for your application but I would recommend getting a better quality extinguisher like Amerex or Ansul since the First Alert in this video has been proven to be unreliable. Another recommendation would be to get a 5 pound extinguisher if you have enough space to put it somewhere securely. Hope this helps! Sorry again for the delay!

HI Zach let's please agree to disagree agree here I don't know much about tesla and I have not checked the msds but based on videos I have seen it actually seem things caused by thermal run way I don't know know if it must be extinguisher done with a water type I need to research it more any I research fire equipment but I can usually answer common questions though that one I am not really taken the time to research as I don't think that would be a normal business question I could be wrong I admit I don't get it right 100% of the time because I am not a professional consultant that is something I will have to research what I definitely do know to be correct is mitigation technique s for different fires are some times disputed I mean debated some thing have more than one possible answer can be true that's what I know for sure as for what I can say above I don't know if it's right that would have to be something research but in theory if you have electricity you should use a non conductor such a question as asked above is uncommon and not something I researched but based on what I have seen I am not certain it correct but I will have to do more research any way thank you for reviewing the fire extinguishers my page has benefits from you making honest product review as some of these videos they tell you what to buy but they don't explain the Test results as you know since she you seem to be doing this as a community service people do like to know how the results are explained and gathered please keep up the videos my page benefits from the fire extinguisher review s! What I do know for sure is kidde denied my claim for a recalled alarm until I went on social media and attached a report I got from a professional engineer titled notice of Child endanger mentioned so what does that tell you about them having good customer service? If I had not research ed fire equipment for years and met the write person to have gotten that report from I would be stuck with a recalled alarm ! By the way I did get a replacement I was not impressed by it !

Hi Zach my question to you had this extinguisher been refilled before or did it have the orginal charge from the manf ? the reason I ask is did you know there is actaully a fire extinguisher study that explains when fire extinguishers are professionally refilled that there is a high chance it will no longer retain its ul listing : what I mean is an example is in this link while the study does not measure firefighting ability there it seems to be true that particles size does have an effect on fire fighting ability of an agent as an example purple k can be rated to put out more fire than a baking soda unit containig the same amount due to its particle size : and you can see how this study was related to particles kzbin.info/www/bejne/poXQd2Cff9qeetk

but its still possible it cannot be commonly serviced I would guess since they stopped using ansul I doubt the refill tech has chinese agent available for refilling a unit

By the way you said 10 is the smallest you would recommend on a home grease fire ? So we can bet if I get a similar unit in 20 B it should probably be fine for a fire in a home pot or pan do you agree?
