First Alert Weather: A damp Friday night as temps drop - 1/31/25

According to the national weather service, the mean monthly temperature for January was 31.2°F, our coldest January since 2022 and before that 2015. The 1991-2020 average is 33.7°F. However, overall since 1970 Januarys have warmed 4.6°F in NYC. They used to average 30.6°F now it’s 35.2°F (using a regression trend line). NYC’s warmest January on record was 2023 at 43.5°F. Records began in 1869.
