First Apple Vision Pro Persona FaceTime Call w/ iJustine & MKBHD!

This is the very first public FaceTime call using Personas before we published our reviews. What did we think? What do you think? I'm so curious about your thoughts.
The Spatial Audio and sense of sound in the environment is something you won't be able to hear but this was wild at first, but then became more normal.
The sense of space and the sound changing depending on the location of the chat window and if you're in an Apple Vision Pro Environment or not was so impressive.

Brian is the only one who actually looks the most natural. Justine looks like an airbrushed 18 year old version of herself, and Marques just looks like a GTA 4 character lol. Still, an incredible feat of software and hardware engineering.

Yeah limit testing and trying to break really shows how much work was put into it. The blurring effect that hides parts of the head where it loses tracking is pretty cool considering most live captures will involve the 3D depiction jittering and phasing in and out. Even their deficiencies are gradual and smooth lol.

Brian’s persona is the closest to reality from the three. It still looks like it was put together by AI but it’s closest to his real self. Justine’s persona is the most robot-like of the three.

The problem that it aims to fix is “how do I have a call with you when you’re across the world and make it feel like you’re here with me, not in a 2D window on a small screen”. I’m sure eventually people will adopt a similar tech for that problem. I’d already use this.

Imagine this but each participant appears to be in the same space. They see each other in the position they are in. Perhaps a 360 scan to create the avatar coupled with software that creates the composite for each participant so that they are where they would be , were they in the same room. This is going to be huge.

I don’t know why, but for some reason I think Brian’s persona was a lot better at capturing his reaction than Justine’s or Marques’. Especially the mouthing/talking animation was a whole lot seamless on Brian’s.

Interesting… cuz to me iJustine’s mouth movements look the most accurate & overall the most expressive. MKBHD looks like an old Disney animatronic or a badly animated Madame Tussaud’s wax sculpture of him. 🤷‍♂️ I find it amazing though that it actually animates MKBHD’s tongue when he’s “licking his lips” (🥴that’s really weird to type but hopefully you get what I’m referring to) which is not at all part of the scanning process to create the persona.
