Sorry for the lack of videos. I have around 10 backlogged backpacking trips I haven't looked over yet. Mostly solo overnight backpacking trips at Henry W. Coe State Park.
I've been going down the hammock rabbit hole lately. During one of my backpacking trips I was having issues finding flat ground, resulting in a horrible night's sleep.
For my first dip into hammocks I tried the ENO Sub6 to test as a camp lounging hammock and it worked out really well. Soon after, I'm going down the rabbit hole. Watching shug videos. Searching through the hammock forums. Installing wall anchors..
For my first go with a backpacking setup, I went with the Hammock Gear Wanderlust kit. I had already picked up their 20 deg Economy Burrow custom top quilt so might as well complete the kit. It seems like a good deal with everything you receive. What leaned me toward this kit was the tarp. The LineLoc tensioners looks like a convenient system for adjustments.
To try shave weight and have more flexibility, I swapped out the ultralight daisy chains straps and carabiners for the Myerstech hybrid polyester/dyneema kit and used the Becket Hitch to tie the strap to the continuous loop. I used the extra evo loops on the continuous loop to hang my backpack and underquilt.
For the underquilt, I tried out the Wise Owl The Flare and it worked out great for Summer temperatures. I'm still waiting on the Hammock Gear Economy Incubator.
For this trip I did an overnight trip to Redfern Pond at Henry W. Coe State Park. It was hot.
This is a quick video of my hammock setup. It worked out great. I learned a lot and look forward to improving my system.
