You are my favorite vlog... and I just want everybody I know to show it to their children. Accolades to your excellent knowledge about the importance of music for the development of the young brain. In the next generation, music education will only go back to the top 4% of society As music teacher of the past 40 years in different parts of the world, I saw how difficult it became for the current young person to study music. So many so called pianists can't even play Bach anymore. The brain haven't developed that far. One can always judge how healthy a culture is by its art . So good to see such a healthy education in this day and age. I know the pressures out there. You and your husband are really star parents.

I love parents who allow their children to have animals. My mom didn't like having animals in the house. I grew up thinking all adults disliked animals. So you can imagine my surprise when I met adults who loved animals! How fortunate your girls are to have such an amazing mom.

Raising chickens is always so much fun. Thank you for sharing your life in Positano for us to enjoy too. I like the off season and we’ve lived the tourist areas many years ago. Now, we like remote life. We sure appreciate all the different seasons in Italy and so enjoy the travel there while in our recliners.. Hahaha.

Goat Morning Elisabeth and family, the learning possibilities are endless, I love that you invest your time in your children's over all well-being. A lot of parents could learn a lot from you. The three languages must be difficult, I know thinking is different than in speaking, and done in the primary language, then to add a third. Your children are smart and quick learners, the extra help they receive in their speech area is a wonderful idea. I just love your goats. The baby chicks are adorable, Buona Fortuna. Elisabeth, I agree music, dance, the visual arts are an important part of life. I was very fortunate as a child to have them as a part of my education. Being in NYC, and living in an apartment, farm animals were not a part of it, but I did have a parakeet and then a canary which did expose me to their behavior, and taking care of them. You and Pepe are excellent parents. Thank you about the part of having two mother languages and how the brain compartmentalizes them.

A tricky business having three languages happening at home. I noticed the homework was in English, it would be interesting to hear more about schooling & how much is taught in Italian.

In Italy, English is learned from the first grade and some notions are learned even in kindergarten. The Italian primary school curriculum includes mathematics, Italian, English, history, geography, science, technology, art, music, physical education and Catholic religion (or alternatively for those who are not Catholic or for those who are atheist a couple of hours of educational and training activities with the support of a teacher). The middle school curriculum includes Italian, English and a second community language, history, geography, mathematics, science, music, art and image, physical education, civic education and technology. High schools are divided by specialization, so depending on the students' abilities and aspirations, they can choose between different types of high schools, "licei" (artistic, classical, linguistic, musical and choreographic, scientific, scientific - applied sciences option, scientific - sports section, human sciences, human sciences - economic and social option, etc.), technical institutes (for administration, finance and marketing, tourism, mechanics, technology, graphics and communication, fashion, chemistry and biotechnology, agriculture, etc.), professional institutes (industry and crafts, commercial services, cultural and entertainment services, health and social assistance, industry and crafts for Made in Italy, commercial fishing and fish production, etc.), etc. If I remember correctly, one of Rosi and Leni's older sisters studied at a nautical institute, which is a technical institute.

If you or your girls havent read it yet, read My Family and Other Animals, by Gerrald Durrell. Its VERY funny, its based on his childhood in the 1930's (i think), and he became a zoologist (cant spell it), so its very fitting for your family (and other animals)!
