We love overnight trains because they're such an efficient way to travel! We took the overnight first class train from Tbilisi, Georgia to Baku, Azerbaijan (about 12 hours). The border crossing was scary because we had just visited Armenia, and there are some legal issues we were questioned about at the border. | Travel vlog 549 | Tbilisi, Georgia | Country #79

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” and taking more trips together and finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and travel hacking over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this KZbin channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling. So we extended our 1 year trip to THREE years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

@Ciah-Lilly Rudkin different country, different customs. Plus she said "please" the first time in a more neutral tone and when they only said "eeeehm" and probably looked at her startled, she repeated her orders. In many countries, it's not these people's job to be nice and smile. And she wasn't impolite, just not friendly either

You should ride the overnight train Moscow-Minsk-Warsaw-Berlin. It's been built barely 2 Years ago and is up to 200kph fast. The attendants speak good english and the first class cabins are practicaly a hotel room ( you have your own bathroom with shower and TV). Price Minsk-Berlin 1st Class for two adults: 140€. We love watching your travels! After all this time it’s like we’re old friends. I received some really scary news this year and was diagnosed with breast cancer. We are going the natural route to treat this horrible disease and in the meantime we have decided to copy our favorite KZbinrs! So watch out Kara and Nate! While I know there’s no chance in catching up with you two, I will say that because of your travels and the journeys you have shared , you gave us the courage to follow suit. Who knows! Maybe our paths will cross someday . I remember the first time one of you replied to something I posted in regards to one of your videos. I’ve watched so many I couldn’t begin to say which one it was. But I was so excited to see that you actually took the time to respond. May the good Lord continue to watch over you both . Thank you for all the smiles you have put on my face and in my heart.

Nice video! The border guard probably asked if you spoke Russian because it would have been easier for him to interrogate you in a language he knows better! Visiting only Armenia is not a reason for a visa rejection. If You also visited Nagorno Karabakh region without consent of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan (according to the UN, PACE and EU NK region is a part of Azerbaijan, however de-facto under the control of Armenia), then Your name can be included in the "black list" of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and maybe You should get visa rejection. #PeaceInTheCaucasus #PeaceInTheWorld

@@ulvisrkarl8584 now with the evisa system it is much less likely to be denied for something like visiting Armenia. While I was living in Azerbaijan getting a visa was much more difficult and no one I knew wanted any problems at the border (like awkward questioning "Do you agree with Armenia"). We chose to avoid the stamp. Friends who didnt sat for hours for questioning at the border. As a teacher of English as a foreign language, I'm disappointed to see so many comments mocking the train attendant and assuming she's rude as she's clearly struggling to communicate. She was doing her best in a language she clearly doesn't feel comfortable in, and people respond with how she's not giving good service? I'd say a clear sentence in English with an understandable message in the middle of Azerbaijan is pretty good service to a tourist. People saying she was rude must never have tried to communicate in a second (or third or fourth or more) language. She said good morning, please, used hand gestures to get her point across, I don't see the problem. Must either be a bunch of people who haven't traveled much or haven't known the struggle of learning a foreign language well enough to feel confident and show your full personality in it.
