@@LisaAndJosh Watching now your video talking about missing veggies during the trip. I have exactly the same issue. Always try to find 'greens'. Your videos are very real, not like some other 'influencers'. Example, we also bought bread, cheese, and ham, and ate in our hotel room in Switzerland. Because of watching your video in Italy, we just booked our trip to Italy, which is the first internal trip after the pandemic. You mentioned about the heat and being exhausted, and I appreciated your video providing real feelings. I like to see you two travel, like rest of us, the ordinary people. P.S. I also enjoy the little clips in the end of each video.

I’ve really been enjoying your videos. I first started following you guys when we were going to Hawaii (we were on Oahu for all of March 2021), and next we’re going to Europe for this Christmas/new year’s. We’ve never been out of the USA, and your videos are helping us to plan and to get even more excited for our trip! One thing I’d like to see you address is VPNs. Keep on exploring, and I’ll be right here experiencing through you!
@LisaAndJosh3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much :) can't wait to hear more about where you're going! Oh man, ok, so VPNs (my previous life as an IT guy is coming through here) - so, I've been playing around with NordVPN for the past few weeks, and I have to say, it's been super helpful moreso on this trip than my previous ones. Many of the banks / credit cards / other financial-adjacent services that I use act very... oddly when accessed from an IP address outside of the USA. Some fully block all IPs outside the US, but most just randomly disconnect or have other odd problems. NordVPN is good (a bit overpriced + SUPER long terms, like 2 year commitment minimum), but honestly I think it would be better to just install a VPN-capable router (like the Unifi Edgerouter X or similar) at a friend or family members house and VPN back to that for free. I haven't needed to VPN to a different country other than the US yet, and I'm not sure I will. I guess for different Netflix content? Don't have time for Netflix anyway :) Hope that helps!
@matthewwilt14553 жыл бұрын
@@LisaAndJosh Yes it does help. I’ve been considering a VPN for a little while now to watch British TV, but the upcoming trip has me thinking more seriously about subscribing to one, for the sake of security on public WiFi. Btw, our trip will be to Munich, Prague and Paris.
@LisaAndJosh3 жыл бұрын
@@matthewwilt1455 Yep - my thought on security on public wifi is that every single website I use is HTTPS, so it's encrypted by default in-browser. VPN is certainly more secure, but I generally find it overkill for that use case.

I can't believe you got through a day in Venice with such little money! It is probably the most expensive European city, and rightly so. I hope you enjoyed every day of your Italian journey.
@LisaAndJosh3 жыл бұрын
Ha yeah - it's so, so expensive :) I think, honestly, that most of the cost goes to eating out in Italy. It's just SO expensive to eat at any restaurant. The food is worth it, no doubt, but man does it just blow our budget into little pieces
@qdaniele972 жыл бұрын
@@LisaAndJosh There are a lot of very good restaurants with very resonable prices out in the country but you've to get out of the international tourist routes to find them. That means you would either have to rent a car or take regional trains and stop in smaller cities on your way to the big tourist attractions.

@@alessandrom7181 I said you "could" which is completely true. Not that you should. I completely agree its probably not the best idea. But because of the high speed networks many cities are only a couple of hours by train so you totally can do it if you really want.

Think Venice was my least favourite place to visit as I found it dirty, smelly and overrated albeit the the buildings and flooding of the square were special. Have been there a few time and twice to embark and then disembark from a cruise. Was so happy to hop the bus to Genoa and spend a few days just soaking in the atmosphere..
