@jeffreyrubish3473 жыл бұрын
@@stargateproductions That adds an element of complexity. Here the sand texture is common in new construction unless you are willing to pay more for that extra finishing. We had sand texture so when I did it on the garage ceiling it was consistent with the rest of the house and helped lessen the impact of my less than stellar finishing.

Even though you might get razzed by Pros, I believe your primary audience is unskilled folks who can't afford to use skilled craftsmen. You look like you get embarrassed when there are obvious defects in a pass of the trowel. I have learned so much, you have demonstrated "the art" of dry walling. You don't realize little things like the brush you use to clean your tools. This one thing has sped up my process dramatically. Own the defects, God knows WE will experience all sorts of problems, how you deal with them is a valuable lesson for me. Knowing when to stop going over the same dang spot that wont smooth out. Make sure to explain why you are mixing mud the at a certain consistency. I believe your audience knows you are not speaking for the entire trade but what has worked for you. I gave up the pan I now use a hawk and trowel, I can un-texture a ceiling and skim coat it 10 times faster. Thanks!

How do you clean up the mess that drips on the floor. Sometimes it looks like there's some covering on the floor and other times it doesn't seem like there is. Is there a process you recommend here?
@dhammer56453 жыл бұрын
There's is 2 ways to clean up the mud on the floor. One is to get it will its still wet. The other is to wait for it to dry and scrape it up. The dried mud on a finished floor comes off pretty easily actually, as long as the floor isn't bare wood or rough concrete is just pops up usually.
@trainliker1003 жыл бұрын
@@dhammer5645 Except if it is quick set (also called "hot" mud). That will NOT come up easily and may seriously bond and become rock hard. (Ask me how I know). I always put down those cheap blue plastic tarps now, like you can buy at Harbor Freight or anywhere. Those are a TREMENDOUS time saver. I guess the other way is to be so good that you don't drip drywall mud on the floor. But that seems beyond my skill level.
