Ajax normally tries to balance experience with talent. Sadly the last two year the leadership failed badly and sold anyone who wanted to move to bigger leagues. Our team at the moment is like a glorified youth team. Not expecting to much as even hendo can't perform miracles but hopefully a step in the right direction.

Ik hoop dat Hendo echt die leider kan zijn die Ajax zo heel hard nodig heeft. We hebben echt iemand nodig die op het veld de lijnen uit gaat zetten en een ploeg die nu te vaak als los zand uit elkaar valt op de rails gaat houden. Ik vind het echt wel een prestatie van de staf bij Ajax dat ze deze hele grote naam hebben weten binnen te hengelen. Ik ben wel benieuwd wat dit doet met het perspectief van bijvoorbeeld Silvano Vos. Al met al wel een prachtige aankoop! -------- I hope that Hendo can be that leader Ajax desperately need at the moment. We need a player who can keep the team together and who can impose his will on the pitch. It really is a massice achievement by the staff at Ajax that they managed to reel in a huge name in football.
