Please note : the beggars you may encounter on the streets are typically not local Ghanaians ; they are from refugees from neighbouring conflict-ridden countries . Ghanaians culturally do not beg ; they will sell you something and maybe charge you more than a local because they think that as a foreign visitor , you have money . If you stay in the country long enough you will notice that Ghanaians do not beg as it is against the culture to beg . They are very entrepreneurial people . That is why you see most people doing sone kind of business hustle . Begging is culturally a no-no for Ghanaians .

Please go to inner ACCRA..Cantonment ..east legon/west legon hills...downtown near black square...different vibe than Osu. Auston Holleman landed in OSu when he first got there and went towards east legon n other areas and noticed it was a big different and two different ghanas.

I dont know if u know this, but that little areas of Accra that u listed, is not the whole of Ghana. Just a small portion of the capital city of Ghana, is what u listed. Auston didnt know what he was doing and where to go unfortunately. Sometimes its better to spend a few extra dollars to get yourself a tour guide, otherwise whats the purpose, really.

You passed right by my old home ... Frankie's Hotel. Lived there for a month. They make homemade ice cream there and make other desserts. They can put the pounds on you. Have a good restaurant too. Hope I get back there before the Grim Reaper comes a callin.

@@Czechineffect Don't forget to swing by Cape Coast castle (dungeon) ... only 3 hour car ride. Lots of places do tours. Also if time permits, have cabbie drive you thru Sodom & Gomorrah. It's official name is Agbogbloshie, but locals all know it as S & G. Maybe the most heartbreaking place in Ghana. Where you were on Oxford Street in Osu, at night the "working girls" come out. Some beauties in the mix, however I'm not advocating anything immoral. Just an interesting watch.
