How to apply for a visa? I had heard that it is difficult to get into Tibet ! And do we have to be with a tour guide always?
@danlovesayu3 жыл бұрын
@@Daisy-ml5ky Tibetan tour guides will follow where you go. You will need to coordinate with them and the tour agency on where you will be going when you reach Lhasa. Anything that’s plan on the itinerary, you have to follow first. Usually you will have 2-3 days to roam around Lhasa city after you finish all the remote places. You will need to let the tour guide know where you roughly be going. It’s still better to have your tour guide tag along as most Tibetans do not speak English. Some hidden gems which only local tour guides will know. It’s not that the tour guide loves to follow you but it’s part of tour agency and government SOP that each foreigner needs to be accompanied at all times except when you are sleeping! Hahaha. Anyway, places like Potala Palace must be accompanied by tour guide and you must follow their time which they reserved for you. You can’t just enter the monastery anytime. I stayed at Shangri-la (yes a little expensive) as I prefer the hotel as it’s nearby some popular tourist spots, including Potala Palace. You will need to apply for 2 visas. One is China visa to enter China. Another visa will be taken care by the Lhasa tour agency which is another document you need to show at the immigrations if you arrive Lhasa first. There are many ways to enter Tibet. I started my route from Chengdu city and we took G318 route. It took us 6 days to arrive Lhasa. One important tip is never ask anyone about Dalai Lama or talk about him. Best to ask your tour guide on some sensitive topics to avoid especially on politics. Tibetans are beautiful people and very friendly. Good luck and I hope you make it for the trip of your lifetime! If you work for a newspaper or media agency, your application to get a China visa might be a little harder. This is the info learn from my Tibetan tour guide. It’s a 50/50 chance. Oh, get a VPN before you fly if you want to post videos on KZbin or Instagram! It’s pretty handy to have one. I use Express VPN (yes it’s expensive) and it works all the time. I do not work or have any part with the company.

when you said "back in the days, there's more than 2million monasteries in tibet, but most of them are destroyed", I thought I misheard you, I have to rewind to make sure that was really what you said. Keep in mind the population of tibet is only 3 million, and back in the days, the population was much less(around 1 million at 1940s). Given this fact, 2 million monasteries sounds highly improbable. I am not sure if there's hidden agenda from the people who told you this kind of story. I hope not. but I can easily see how some people fabricate this kind of story for obvious motive. sad thing is most people just blindly believe these lies, no matter how ridiculous it is.
Happy Marsh From a critical and statistically point of view, what you say makes sense. With around 1mil population in 1940, the population grew to ~3mil currently In 1940, there are almost 800mil Han chinese, are there 1,600mil temples to cater for the Chinese..? If this doesn’t makes sense to you, how does the above make sense in the first place

I'm coming from Urumqi, Xinjiang, China. I'm currently studying in France, every time when I talk about my home people will argue that it doesn't belong to China or so the western media said. There is so much info on the internet and it's hard to tell if they are true or not. I don't like people judge about my home just by hearing 100 or even 200 hundred so-called ”Uyghur“. Some of them organized hundreds of terrorist attacks. Please learn some about the local history and try to pay a visit. This problem is very complicated if you're not from Xinjiang honestly I really don't think you have the right to comment on what's happening there. A lot of the people in my home they can't speak English can't really express their thoughts but I can now. Although there is censorship in China, I didn't understand why the government did this back then now I do, what you hear from the news and saw on the internet ain't always the truth, You think BBC CNN what they always say on the internet are true? I bet 80% of the news was fabricated just to attract people's attention. I tried to avoid this kind of videos because I feel very sad and vulnerable, If the free speech really exists then it should allow having a different voice, there's another thing I want to say WE ARE ALL HUMANS despite the difference in culture or languages.WHY can't we just all get along? I have a lot of Uyghur friends and I'm an ethnic minority Mongolian, did those western media mentioned Mongolian people living in Xinjiang? We have 13 local ethnic groups living here. I'm thinking about making some videos about my home this spring break. I'm tired of this. PLEASE IF YOU HAVE A CHANCE VISIT ME IN XINJIANG. I'm Mongolian and a child of XINJIANG and I'm also CHINESE.
@chenyuyakim67574 жыл бұрын
Leon Holt I agree. Anda, I’m ethnically Manchurian and I’m also Chinese citizen
@firefly47844 жыл бұрын
I totally understand. They made it look like the entire Xinjiang belongs to Uyghurs! My American friend who argued that Xinjiang should be independent had no idea that Uyghurs mostly lived in only Southern Xinjiang. And those who accused China of doing cultural genocide to Uyghurs have no idea that Uyghurs traditionally never wear hijabs and are best known for dancing in China. Those East Turkistan Uyghurs who are brainwashing Chinese Uyghurs and asking them to put up hijabs and stop dancing are the ones who are destroying a culture. Funny that western media never talked about the land reform which is the fundamental cause of the conflicts between Dalai Lama’s upper class and the central government. Yet they think they have media freedom🤷🏻♀️ Those Tibetan exiles and ET Uyghurs have been telling lies after lies, and western media take their narratives as if they were true and completely disregard explanations from the China side while those people fabricated countless lies such as using some photos of old Kashgar city under restoration and making a lie saying the Chinese government torn down Uyghur house, making a lie saying the Chinese government destroyed Uyghur tombs when it was local Uyghurs themselves who asked for better tombs...
@firefly47844 жыл бұрын
They don’t seem to understand China is not an ethnic nation state and has 56 ethnicities. Even the majority, Han Chinese, are hardly pure Han after thousands years of integration with other ethnicities. My father and his brother all have curly hair and tall nose. We are Han Chinese but we suspect we have other ethnic blood in the family but it is impossible to trace now. The purest Han Chinese are probably the Hakka people and the Taiwan president is Hakka but ironically she claims she is not Chinese😅

OMG,the sceneries had reminded me a lot of my trip to Tebet(part of 1 month trip around China after my university graduation, Pekin-Lhasa-LinZhi-Lhasa-Lanzhou-Zhangye-Lanzhou-Xian-Taiyuan-Tianjin-Beijing), the Temple, Potala Palace and other places like shopping Avenue and so on. Tibet is a amazing place for people to encounter other unknown ones without any trouble-commmunicate, the first sight of each other may make you feel like you 2 can be friends forever, girls and boys, care for each other. The only disadvantage is the altitude sickness like your friend(BTW, is she Jordan?) because i was so much arrogant to show others that i am weak, so i run , jump, and climb higher and down rapidly, then i felt like i was about to die, head echoing noise,feeling a little hungry but unable to eat anything, especially at night, i kept feeling like choked up to death, woke up at least 5 times for that night in Namu Cuo(lake),anyway, that feel is not cool and unexpected. my 6 days in Tibet is like a dream, magic dream. too much joyful to forget.
