This is why I started following your sweet family. I love your mom advice, it helps me not feel alone in walking through this chapter. Its been my favorite chapter so far, but also the hardest, but also the most rewarding!! It's so hard but having others like you talk about it makes me feel better as a mom of littles. Thank you for always being real, especially when you get backlash for it. Prayers for a safe school year for you and your kids!

Just sitting at my desk at work trying not to cry, it goes by so fast when your in the thick of raising em you don't know when its going to end. Now I've got a freshman and Junior in highschool getting to see the kind and good people they are turning out to be, made all these hard times worth it. Best advice my mom ever gave me "just got to love them through it"

Bonnie, my DREAM would be if you had a parenting podcast!!! 😍 My late teen years/early 20’s we’re spent watching you raise the kids and now I have a 3 month old of my own. You parent just like I want to and now I literally get to see what my son will become if I uphold the same standards as you did! I want that. As someone who also works in the public school system, I get to see first hand kids that were raised to respect their parents/adults and kids that weren’t. It’s takes work, but it is possible. And I’m so thankful you have shared how you did it with your kids. Love you always!

It's great parenting advice. I see so many argue with their children. I never have. If my children acted out in public we just left where we were. I feel like I have trained them as the Bible says. I always hated when school started. We enjoy our kiddos so much. My daughter and Granddaughters live next door. This year one moved into an apartment with roommates and the other started college and has to be in the dorm freshman year. It has been so hard. I miss them so much. Your children are such sweet kiddos with great manners. You and Joel have done an excellent job with them. I can tell that you enjoy being with them and they enjoy being with you. What a blessing that is to all of you. I am a retired teacher and I can tell you that is not the case with every family. God bless all of you!

Bonnie I totally agree with you about starting to teach children when they are babies and yes consistency is the key...and the hardest part 😊 I love it when kids are so out of control that the parents call Super Nanny Jo to come do something with their terrible kids. Jo watches the situation for a couple hrs and then sits the parents down and let's them know the kids aren't the problem the parents are 😆 You can't blame a 3 yr old that has never been taught or even worse an out of control teenager. Hopefully what you shared will help somebody. Happy you found that avacado! 😊

Oh bonnie just wait! My husband is a contractor & i help when im feeling good! We have 2 girls & they are 19 & 17 every year of their lives we have instilled helping others, listening to others & you might be surprised! & showed them our team work & work ethic & this yeah oh my gosh girl they are both working our oldest moved out of state & I home schooled her 3&1/2 years of high school! She loved it! We went thru K12 best way ever!! Our baby girl is almost 17 works for a serving department in a living home for the elderly in a big facility! They shown us what they have been taught all through out this last 9 months & im crying cause its so true about our kids watching & hearing our every sound or action!!! I have a illness called crps & its very painful & for the last 12 years they have seen their daddy fight for me & care for me & they saw that & its naturally instilled in them! Our baby got a group together & had things that she didnt wear or use & gave it to a girl who needed it! Let me also say hold on to Olivia & cherish this next set of years cause they literally go warp speed!! Jr high goes fast but when high school hits & 1 day their a freshman & with out even thinking about it your at graduation! So hold on mama treasure each time they need mom talking where you just sit & listen & then it changes from talking to her to talking with her or them!! Thank you for being more open just ignore if its words you dont need to hear! This is what i noticed in our daughters a jr in high school & 1st year out of high school mamma here!! Have a beautiful day!!!🧡🌺🙏🏼🦋🧡

I've been having SUCH a HARD time with listening I'm constantly in that place of "I don't know if I can do this".... Bonnie I tell my little one "You gotta say Yes Mamma.... " hearing that there's that beautiful place you have found where things flow and children your children have grown in such a way. That helps me know "I can do this and I am doing it" So Thank you

He is ok that he didn’t read. Would it have been best if he did, sure, but he is ok and just fine academically.
@rachelhambleton87622 жыл бұрын
@@bonniehoellein I'm not saying your son isn't ok, you know him better than anybody. Just so you're aware, research has estimated that by the time a student reaches middle school, summer reading loss can accumulate to a two-year lag in reading achievement. I'd encourage you to find fun books that spark his interest and make him want to read. That way reading itself isn't looked at as just during the school year type of thing or homework, but more of a life-long enjoyment. Soon he'll be asking to bring along his books on those long RV trips. :)
