Mrs.Tolulope you can also give this a try turnip or collard greens,But please bear in mind collard is a tough leave,I usually soak in hot water before adding it to my soup,This is just a friendly information for when next t you want to cook your egusi soup or soup with swallow.☺️Please don’t relent in speaking your mother tongue to Soteria very important 👏👍.

I'm loving the vlogs, thank you Mama Solutions. I'm low key glad Soteria doesnt like the cereals, in the abroad its pure sugar sugar in their cereals. If you can at the grocery stores buy Semolina, oats porridge, cornmeal porridge and make your own cereals for her sweeten with honey, banana and raisins etc. Love you guys and praying all the best for you

If Canada is like the U.S., usually groceries are less expensive in non African stores. What I do is I take my list first to a Hispanic grocery store or Walmart and then the proper African stuff at African stores especially stuff like palm oil, cray fish, yam, etc. Compare prices to see

You may likely get your spinach at a cheaper price in Walmart or your local grocery store than at the African market. If it works for your recipe, consider comparing prices. Your daughter is the cutest!!!

Lovely Vlog! When I first came to Canada, I was using Spinach for Efo Riro and Egusi but since I discovered 'Collard Greens', there has been no turning back. You should try it and mix it with spinach. I think it's the closest thing to Naija Efo. Since you're in Toronto, you can buy it from any 'No Frills' store around. Also, any food stuff e.g Sardines, plantains etc. that you can buy from regular stores, please buy them there. They are much cheaper than buying from the African store. These days I only go to the African store when I need Yam, Palmoil, Crayfish... those kinds of stuff. Anyway, welcome to Toronto! You will love it here. 😊

@SmallTalkWithFaith3 жыл бұрын
@Nwangozi Vivien Sunday My sister it's not like that ooo.😅 Of course I'm pro-Naija businesses but convenience is also key. The African store is quite a drive from where I stay anyway and 'No Frills' is very close, so I really have to count the cost and time when I'm going there and if we are true to ourselves... 5 bucks here, 5 bucks there... my sister it matters oo and this is not about poverty mindset😊.

You can get onions for cheaper in non-African stores its way better. Also you can get Tomatoes in boxes at asian stores like T&T and also no frills(just keep an eye out). Also its better to buy boxes of atarodo from the african store too. You can get fresh meat and all from a store in Toronto called Lauri meat. Smoked turkey too is nice, then Canada sells the soft chicken in stores but if you want the african hard chicken you can get from Lauri meat too. It’s advisable to buy boxes(saves you less time to always go to the store and money too). Welcome to Canada. 💞
