@@nigeriansista As a poc myself, I will go ahead and comment my thoughts about what you said. I understand that people could have their own thoughts and emotions, but it is a little off putting to think that in this video (not pertaining to everything just the hair touching) viewers get offended by someone else's body and what that person allows. It is understandable when viewers get triggered when their OWN hair is touched, or when someone else is offended and expresses that they don't like their hair being touched. It is understandable for those people to come together and share their concerns about it. However, when it is someone who DOES allow their hair to be touched and who IS NOT triggered, it is a little off putting when you say Jenny should be open to viewers getting triggered by it. Because how does Jenny allowing her hair to be touched personally affect you or other viewers when it is her own body and her own choice regarding this video. If it was the viewers own hair being touched, that would be more understandable to them expressing that they are triggered. But how does someone else allowing their own hair to be touched, hurt you or others when it is not your hair? So pertaining to this video, why does she have to be open to others being against it when it is her own body and choice? Btw I am not saying this or asking in an aggressive or arguing way and I don't want to cause an argument, I am genuinely curious and asking.

They kept asking how you wash it 😂😂😂 I'm gonna keep it REAL with y'all. If I wash my hair every week, it'll dry up and break. If I'm wearing my hair in a pulled back afro then I'll wash it every 2 weeks. If my hair is in natural twists then I'll wash it after around 3 or 4 weeks. if I have my hair in braids like Jenny then I'll wash it after 1.5 months. Black coily hair is not the same as Asian hair so the standard of care is DIFFERENT if the goal is growth.

@KAYKILAYYY

@@요링이 it can be itchy when you get a fresh style.. or if it's dry but it's not too bad if you moderate the products you put in your head during the duration of your style. 3 days ! @damnedifidonut

@@요링이yeah, it's because of the curl pattern (or the absence of such, in this case😹). Curly hair poofs outwards, so the oil produced by the scalp doesn't just run down the strands, unlike straight or wavy hair (Or at least, that's what I read somewhere 😹)
@mutelarsorhougbe4606
@mutelarsorhougbe4606 2 ай бұрын
@@요링이curls & coils inherently require more moisture (for example compare the thickness of curly hair creams/moisturisers to straight hair ones. The later is much thinner consistency). So they - particularly coils- need to retain that moisture/ oils and so stripping of them of this continuously is detrimental. Straight hair doesn’t need this, because the strand is diff (I’m sure there’s more detailed trichology/biology to it that I don’t know). Obviously though, it goes without saying that all hair does still need to be washed because too much build-up gets detrimental as it blocks up the follicles. 😊!

I thought it would be done in a more complicated way than shampooing. This is because most Koreans have oily and thick straight hair compared to other races, making it difficult to stay in a braided state for more than a day. I think it will get loose or itch a lot soon. That's why it's common in Korea to change and wash your style every day. I think I asked Jenny directly out of simple curiosity because no one can keep her braided long. I hope she doesn't think it's racist or a bad reason.

In the West people with straight hair usually wash their hair every 3 days or once a week. The more curly a person’s hair is the more often they have to wash it. If people have extremely curly hair they wash once a month because their hair takes a long time to become oily. I have curly hair and wash my hair every 2 weeks.

@dty123 it's literally super natural in their culture, just because you're not used to the type of culture that touch each other more doesn't mean it's weird. I know for Americans and Europeans, we're not very touchy people at all, but they are over there. Touching and smelling hair is super normal for them, when they're close.

I see comments about people finding it weird to smell or touch a person's hair even if they are friends or family? 🤔 As a Black American my other black friends, close family and other friends from different races always smelled my hair whether I was natural, had braids and other different hair styles because I put Indian Hemp, Fragrance Grease, Jamaican Castrol Oil and etc. in my hair so my friends and family loved the smell. I guess it just normal to me. It is not like many didn't use the same products in their hair but sometimes the Style or Fragrance just draws you in. My best friend is a hairdresser and would try different styles on my hair like cornrows, faux locs, twist and etc. so it was just natural also for my friends and family to say "Oh, I like that! How much did it cost? What's her number" while touching my hair. It is all good when it is friends and family touching my hair or me, but a stranger randomly walking up to me touching my hair without permission is a No No. To Jenny: The braids look good on you. 👀🥰 I haven't had braids in awhile and you are making me want to get them again. I have never tried putting blond extensions in my hair just always black or brown, but you are making me want to try it. Well Be Blessed Beautiful Queen and Wishing and Praying for you good Health, Wealth and Good Luck..

I don't wear extensions, but people always ask me if it's all my real hair because its so thick and long. I always say "yep unfortunately all of this hair is mine and its a lot of work"😂 I don't take offense, I'm glad that they ask questions.

Jenny, you’re so beautiful. I know you say you don’t mind when close friends touch your hair because you know they don’t mean harm. But I feel the way that one guy was asking questions was a bit rude especially because he wasn’t really that complimentary to the hairstyle. And he was saying things as statements rather than politely asking. If you’re really okay with it then it’s okay but also remember that if they’re you’re true friends they’ll understand that it’s okay for you to not be comfortable too. Love the braids and they’re my fave hairstyle on you x
