Air Baltic and Swiss have been flying these for the better part of 2 years and are very impressed. They are saving up to 22 % in fuel from their older aircraft. Delta made a good choice and will be getting more soon.

I wish the plane wasn't so quiet. I would have loved the roar of another jet over campus. But it is pretty cool to see.

This plane is the short-field rocket you are waiting for. Boeing shows off new aircraft pulling steep climbs only at airshows. The A220/CSeries, regardless of weight, can do them at will on revenue flights.
@nick216146 жыл бұрын
A220 is actually pretty heavy so I doubt it. It is 5,000lbs heavier than its rival E2 jet from EMB. There are only a few staff on training flights for example you can see this A350 taking off at CMH which normally doesn't get jets larger than a 737-8 or A321. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZK1eqxvfdhkiaM

Our Canadian beauty reminds you that more people than the Germans help NASA get to the moon. AVRO Canada engineers made major contributions to the space program in the good old USA. Canadians are very proud of our great universities and engineers.

Does anyone else notice the flash pattern of the beacon lights change after rotation? Fast flash wheels down, slower flash wheels up. Very unique. Reminds me of the auto-strobe feature on the Mad Dogs

Wow this plane jumps into the air and go up fast. The engines are Pratt and Whitney geared turbo fan with excellent fuel savings and are supposed to be very quiet but I read some people living near airports say it makes a terrific moan at certain speeds that is unlike any engine they've heard. But the big reduction in a planes carbon footprint is what I like. I like to hear Jets engines under power.
@zwilk186 жыл бұрын
They are whisper quiet engines which is cool. However, I do like to hear the sound of a MD88 ripping over campus though.

I would really love to see Delta finally ditch the CRJ flight from here in Fresno to Salt Lake City and use these instead and possibly even add another destination from here besides only SLC. They're almost the only carrier here besides allegiant that only goes to one city. I'd love more options and this aircraft from Delta in my hometown

FlightFilms in a piston aircraft you do a magneto check by going to near full power and check each mag to make sure that they are working. If you go from both to left and the engine doesn’t drop in RPM than the right mag may have failed, when you go to right it will either drop significantly or shut off completely. Either case you wouldn’t want to take off. Also, it allows you to check for spark plug fouls. If you have a bag spark plug you may be able to clean it by leaning the aircraft and adding more RPM to burn the carbon deposits off. Look up a Cessna 172 Run up.

Flights start the last few days of January from NYC to Boston and from NYC to LAX and NYC to Dallas. Delta placed 75 Firm orders and Options for another 50. Very smart move to save millions per year on fuel savings with this mostly carbon fiber medium jet. Check with your airline to confirm any scheduled changes....LOL

1:53 the back of the engine just looks oddly unfinished to me, like some part is missing. I think chevrons look better. Also the thick green stripes inside the engines look odd too. Nothing against PW! Just saying...
