Nice option. My suggestion would be they offer it with electric power on 120V. A second gas engine to maintain is a turnoff when it will have so little runtime compared to the engine on the blade. Anyone with an installation near a building could have access to electricity, and otherwise you can use a generator (which most of us have and maintain that engine anyway). Even a solar generator setup might work and save the noise 🙂. Just a suggestion.

That's a really cool option for that mill. My pond was three feet low on Thanksgiving,now it is flowing out the overflow drain. I guess that happens with three and a half foot snow melt. Enjoy the rest of the weekend, have a very Merry Christmas and God Bless you all!!!🙏❤😊

Hi Adam! Merry Christmas to you, Lana, Anderson & Josie!!!🎄💙 I hope I spelled those names correctly. Wow the snow fall in the background is like a post card scene. I think the Easy Boardwalk upgrades a no brainer. I will probably have to have a shoulder replaced. It’s my dominant arm of course, so take advantage of all the things that can make the job easier. This is a win, especially at that price. Since it’s made by the same company, it should fit like a glove. All the best from Iowa.😊

Adam, nice video! I’ve been watching your channel for some time now. The EX boardwalk is probably the most expensive manual mill out there. Even the junior is more expensive than the woodland mill or frontier manual mill by a good bit. $4500 seems to me to be more than worth. There other less expensive ways to turn logs on and manual mill if you have any equipment to load logs on your mill. It’s a hobby mill not a production mill. Interesting and thanks for sharing. Merry Xmas.

Some crushed stone might be nice around the mill area. You will need to clean out your tracks before they freeze.

Yeah I’ve been meaning to add some before winter but time got away from me
@brucemitchell5637Ай бұрын
The hydraulic clamps that you mentioned would be a minimal cost. You already have the hydraulic power unit, all you would need would be a single spool valve, some hydraulic hose and fittings and two fairly small hydraulic cylinders.

Looks great! This is a yes for my M40 and I have ordered one. I notice two things: o Ground clearance under the chain bar mechanism while towing? o Per Stanton: 6 inch ground clearance on trailer package o Minimum track height during operation for under the chain bar mechanism ground clearance? I see you've put more blocking under it to raise the tracks. o Per Stanton: 17 inches to top of track unless you dig a hole where the cylinder is to lower it more. It looks like the sawmill head still goes all the way back to the track stop when the head is over the new hydraulic motor and reservoir system. Is this correct?

Awesome collaboration in working with the owner to enhance his go to market products and in way that makes it optional. As far as the issue of adding the clamps, a person who is capable of engineering could potentially build their own solution but as you mentioned, this is getting away from the core demographic of most users who will like and use EZCore as their sole solution.
@chrissheathewoodguyАй бұрын
I wish wood mizer did that. we have a older lt 40 and it would be nice just to have a log turnner. now we do have toover head grain and it works. but you have wrap a chain around the log every time. and that getshard on a 30 to 39 inch log. we are looking to get a portable wide head mill to add to our abilities for customers

Having bolt on options can keep the base price down; but allow milling operations to grow as the operators grow their business. Hydraulic piston to account for log taper would be good too.

I think you and neighbor Doug could make a log clamp for the mill, he's a pretty clever guy the two of you could figure it out. That being said I think Boadwalk should add it to the package, I really don't think it would cost that much because everything you need except a couple of hoses and a control lever is already there. Nice addition as is but the clamp would be really nice.
@TheBroSteadАй бұрын
Good video. I really think you need to add a bollard to (at least) the post that supports the roof edge of your building. Check out 0:27 and how close you come to hitting the post. Just trying to be helpful. - Tim

That's a very nice and helpful addition to the sawmill. Every sawmill is very expensive and you really need the right circumstances and property to justify the cost of ownership of having one. I'm sure it's like most things us men finally get and say..... How did I go so long without one and that I couldn't go without one now. Your place is coming together nicely Adam, and it's been a pleasure to witness your growth from when you first started in that neighborhood to now.

Very nice, affordable option. My guess is that the clamps will be out within a year. The engine, pump and tank are already there. Just curious… does the 390 share a battery for starting with the other engine? I’m thinking the engine powering the hydraulics will be getting a lot of starts and short runs and you have to keep that battery charged.

Good looking sawmill but the price seems kinda high for the average Joe. Especially when you can get a woodland mills or a mechmax for much cheaper. Very nice mill however. The log turner is a game changer. Good stuff.

Does the chain of the log turner not damage the log in the process. Seems to have some marks on the log after it was turned. Of is this just light marks which will disappear after the wood goes through the plainer?

I’m sure the fella knows what he’s doing but it’s surprising adding a battery and using a electric motor and or a electric linear actuator wouldn’t be a lot cheaper. Also in my opinion way more desirable then an other gas motor to start when not need but at the beginning. Just my thoughts

Second engine just to run the pump? How about an extended pulley that has 2 sheaves; one for the blade, the second for a V-belt that drives the pump. A relief valve would dump fluid back to the reservoir between log rolls. A thermal relief valve would dump fluid from the pump when it got hot as well as lubrication. 2 engines? No thanks.

Well that sure is interesting!!! I’m not sure for $4500 I’d add this to my current Ez boardwalk 40. BUT if it added hydraulic log clamps then that would sure be something. I am genuinely intrigued! See if Stanton can add hydraulic log clamps to it so it would also save you the back and forth clamping it down! Great video and still love my EZ Boardwalk 40! Have to admit…loved seeing those logs rotate like that!!! 🤠
