This was filmed in Dimash's home studio during covid. He sang SOS in Japan at an earlier Toyoko Jazz Festival and was met at the airport by the usual horde of Dears . You should watch his airport arrival in NYC before his 2019 concert, which I was lucky enough to attend. Dimash live is beyond description. He has so much stage presence and charisma along with the great singing talent.

This song is sooo beautiful❤️. And he performed it with so much emotions. You literally can feel his pain😪. His first song in Japanese. He has been invited to perform at the Tokyo Jazz Festival in 2021. But he couldn't go to Japan because of Covid. So he had to sing it from the studio in China. There he took part in the show Shine! Super Brothers. I’m not sure but I think it was his studio in China. But I do know he got a studio as a gift for his birthday. If the Japanese reactors are to be believed, Dimash sang in perfect Japanese. Some also claimed that it was better Japanese than many Japanese themselves😅. Greetings and love from Germany👋❤️

DIMASH also sings a Chinese version "Autumn Strong" (same melody, different lyrics). He sang it on the 2017 "I am Singer" talent show. (Background inspiration for the song is heart rending.) My favorite version is the ARNAU concert. "Red Suit"!!

The plot is based on the complex true story of the famous Chinese actress, Japanese by nationality Yoshiro Yamagushi. Great reaction! I remember one comment on a song reaction of Dimash a few years ago, " Even his breath has notes!" (This was his first time singing in Japanese--the original lyricist heaped praise on Dimash's interpretation.) You can hear a different Chinese version of the song when Dimash stunned the audience at The Singer in 2017. I think Gloria Wu (G.Wu) has this performance and the story behind AUTUMN STRONG on her YT channel.

This version "Ikanaide" (行かないで) ) is the original, from 1989, composed by Koji Tamaki (famous Japanese singer, born in 1958) with lyrics by Goro Matsui. The version "Autumn Strong" (Late Autumn), sung in Chinese, uses the same song, but has another lyrics (Yaqui Cheung, from 1993) and another theme: It talks about the Japanese actress Yoshiko Yamagushi, very dear to the Chinese, who was deported when they discovered her Japanese origin (his real name was Li Xiang Lan and we're talking about World War II, where Japan was China's enemy) and never returned to China.
