I might give up some cargo and towing capacity, but that's a good tradeoff for the better offroad capability.

At my dealer (socal) we got a prototype tacoma come in for trouble codes. It wasnt anything serious, grille shutter, because we assumed it was from the offroading they were doing. It was thoroughly dirty and could tell they had taken it through some decent water. Truck was plenty muddy. They seem alright. Nothing to lose your mind over.

Yeah that's why I got the 23 SR5 V6 4x4 . 41k. I am never going to need all that crap on the expensive trims and I can upgrade the suspension myself how I like for a few thousand. I really prefer the basic all paint matched style on the SR5 anyway. Looks like luxury in silver. I have seen 24 SR5s going for 43k. Thats the deal. Upgrade later if you want offroad crap.

I work in the plastics industry. Some plastics are harder and more durable than thinly stamped metal plus plastic doesn't rust. We, as midnight shift machine operators, were throwing our test run parts (NOT Ford parts) as hard as we could against brick walls with zero issues. Couldn't break chip or shatter our parts. And that's before QC got them 😂.

Maybe a base ZR2, and Ford Raptor Competitor. -No factory front locker. - 33s not 35s factory installed. -less lift/ground clearance/Aproach/departure ect..ect. Toyota as well as other manufacturers have priced these trucks out of the relm of what most people will ever pay for a midsized truck.

The Trailhunter trim is for Overlanding; says right on the Toyota website. Prices on the TRD-Pro & Trailer are 😱 What were the actual payload numbers on these vehicles? I know what the website says... The turbo noise in the raised air intake would get old really quick. Great info in this vid - thanks.

Toyota made the price so high dealers are going to have a hard time taking on markup cause nobody going to want to pay 5k to 10k extra on this vehicle there's so many options for that price like a f150 raptor or chevy silverado zr2

Here is a theory on Toyota’s high pricing; Toyota Corporation tired of distributors and dealers making money from unnecessary and unwanted accessories, including $4,000 “market adjustments”. So they have jacked up the MSRP on the vehicles to a level where distributors and dealers have no room to add “extras” and may have to even discount to move the inventory.

65k is a LOT but I think a lot of people miss the point. The trail hunter has a ton of upgrades, plus the warranty. Many overlanders would install those things themselves and now it’s available from the factory

I make enough to afford this truck, but there is zero chance I'd buy it at that price. Would rather buy the TRD Off-Road and add 2-3" lift, 33's, better shocks, additional skid plates, and still save 12-15k. Less power? Sure, but folks who've driven the non-hybrid Tacoma say it's a very good powertrain.

Lol. You're nuts. Raptor is way better for performance and price, ZR2 is best value by far. TRD Pro is better at nothing but MPG and presumptive reliability (has not been out long enough to actually say it's reliable).

I bought a 4Runner TRD OFF ROAD Premium with KDSS for $45,000 in 2020. Identical models with similar mileage are currently retailing for $40-43k.

TRD off roads and pros pricing is getting totally crazy. Give me a off road with just heated seats and a bed liner for 40k out the door and it'll be the number one selling truck on the market. They can keep all the other fancy controls/cameras/technology that is driving the price through the roof.

Notice on the white vehicle sticker, the Rear Axle Capacity (RAWR) is falsely reduced to 3475 lbs. The real max rating for that 9.5" axle is likely about 4500 lbs.
