Good to see it back on the road , you built yourself a nice truck.

I know I was geeked when I got my 302 swap done in my 01 and took it out for the first shakedown run. I went with a little more old school vibe with a carb/HEI setup.

Ls's are just reworked Chevy 351's, same thing as a Ford motor.

@@anthonysiler4938dude what. You talking about Ford’s 351 or chevy’s 350? Also the “rework” is a whole completely different motor on a whole different level.

I've seen every video of this build except the last two. Even though I'm subscribed they didn't show up in my subscription feed. Glad you've got it on the road and now get to enjoy it! Gonna go watch the previous 2 vids now lol.

I've had that issue myself with channels I subscribe to. I don't know why KZbin has to be that way. My videos should also automatically load to my Rumble channel if that works better for you.

How hard was the swap? I plan to do a similar swap for a baja ranger
@scmotorsports10 ай бұрын
I have a 10 part series on the build of this truck if you want to watch how I did it. The biggest part of the job was replacing the front suspension and building custom headers. If you have a 93 Ranger and newer, I don't think you will have to touch the suspension, because it is IFS. Mine is an 89 with the Twin I-Beam. The steering box gets in the way of the alternator. Space is limited everywhere but I got it to fit. Good luck with your swap.

I love the vid man, I love what you did. I'm planning on doing somewhat the same thing how much did you spend on the engine and what tips would you recommend?
@scmotorsports7 ай бұрын
Sorry for the late reply but I was on vacation. Yes, you absolutely have to keep you eyes open for a good deal on the engine. You are going to see anything between $2000-$10000 for a new or used engine. As far as tips, it depends on what direction you want to go with the truck.

Hey boss. I have a 1989 Ford Ranger XLT. Four cylinder. What is your advice, when it comes too do a 5.0 swap and keep the 5 speed stick shift transmission?
@scmotorsports Жыл бұрын
Are you talking about a Coyote 5.0L or Small Block Ford 5.0L? And what kind of Horsepower are you planning to run? Depending on which factory 5 speed you have, it "could" be used with a SBF 5.0L but they aren't meant to handle the Horsepower.

Ran a stock world class t5 from of all things a 2001 v6 mustang, f150 164 tooth flywheel, clutch, and a dazecars external slave setup for the mustang clutch fork on a 331 stroker that made 375hp through it for a whole year without issue. Mostly street driver but I did track it about 40 passes and it is still in good shape. Only reason I am not currently running that trans as I went to a gen 2 coyote with a faceplated tkx.

@@scmotorsports that could most definitely work. Will you be announcing these events on your channel? As I live in Massachusetts, I'd have to plan a trip
@scmotorsports Жыл бұрын
@@1HotLegendLS Most likely I won't be announcing the events, just cause it's hard to promise I will be there. The weather always plays a role, sometimes I take a different vehicle and as much as I plan to go to events, life can get in the way and I can't make it. Also I have to remember to say it far enough ahead of time, so when I finally get around to editing the video, it gives people time. If it's a big enough event that would make your trip worth it, I'll try to remember to say something.
