4:39 “Bobby loves it in the rear” never heard Mike say it like that before huh.
@jacksonpaul16482 ай бұрын
I never thought I would say this, I think the Taco was the best here. If Bobby’s ZR2 had the AEV Bison package, it would be the winner. The TRX is a completely different truck between the other two. If Mike had something like a Ranger Raptor, then it would be even. No shit a full size truck is better than two midsize trucks. Overall, that Taco is was extremely impressive.
@TorridDesign2 ай бұрын
The Taco did great, but I don't see any reason to say it was better than the ZR2. And the only thing really going for those 2 versus the TRX is the smaller size. But, I don't own any of them, and it really is driver preference at this point.
@chronos7x3512 ай бұрын
To be fair the zr2 driver was complaining all the way down the mountain so he doesn't get a vote and the trx took damage. Taco for the win. In this one and his brother was right no time with the truck and took it out there it handled it all really well I am curious about the on road parts tho and Mike getting a speed ticket
@johnmorales95842 ай бұрын
Of course the trx was the best overall. The real competition is the midsize trucks. I think its clear that both trucks are top tier, however the zr2 has to have the win for 2 major reasons: Price and front lockers. The TRD Pro really competes tith the base ZR2 as the Bison clearly beat the tacoma with its upgraded tires and suspension bits. Other reasons are the ZR2's better rear seats, better approach, departure and lack of electrification. Let me just say the problem with electrification is not only reliability, but to a higher degree its performance limitations on a truck designed PRIMARILY for baja. The taco's big numbers come with the assistance of a electrical boost, without that it is basically a base taco gas only engine. When asking sustained high output from a electric powertrain, the battery drains fast and does not have a chance to charge to provide the boost that gives you those high power figures. As a result the truck will lose boost and rely only on the gas engine. We have already seen this with some other reviewers who were pushing the taco and complained about the power. That was the electric motor saying no more power. That is a fatal flaw for a vehicle designed for baja. In this case, the turbo engine will supply constant, full output the entire time. Lets be real, the power differences were small to begin with (30lb ft and 36 hp). Ultimately, the turbo engine is actually the best baja engine. While I would go for a ranger raptor personally, if you really want to spend 65k, the zr2 bison is the best miidesize offroad truck you can get. Dont take my word, watch the review comparisons.

Although the Taco and Trex would seem like the best, Bobby’s ZR2 would be the only truck that most of the viewers could afford. I personally couldn’t afford any of them. Id just take either my old ZR2 blazer or my Jeep TJ and either of these rides would handle trails easily. It be the drive out there that would kill them.

I came down this in my completely stock Ram 2500 diesel on 35’s not knowing what it was. I was trying to get from Animas Forks to Ouray without just hitting the highway. My woman was crying the entire time but we made it without any damage at all. It was way more trail than my rig was ready for since we were completely loaded down with camping gear on a month long trip from Kentucky. I think I was the only one to had fun but the trail was awesome.

I appreciate the likeness to top gear, especially the talk at the table to compare your trucks for the best truck award. Even some of the aerial shots reminded me of it. Toyota 4X4 starting in '82 with the first factory. the ZR2 were hard to beat, some of the best. I did bad things to them, they brought me home... except for that last River Crossing... my fault, not the truck. it almost made it.
