The category B lambo- this will typically be exported to Europe, fixed and then after 6 months. (Time it takes for DVLA to remove that cars details from the system) its then imported back to the Uk, put on a new registration and comes up as HPI clear with just an import and export marker

Why do you lift the car 3 or 4 feet in the air and then wrestle a heavy wheel and tyre to the ground (where its just come from)? If you're removing a wheel just crack off the bolts while it's on the deck remove the wheel and then send it up in the air. much easier.

As soon as you mentioned taking the front drive shaft out, I knew this will be the result. I am so happy it did not lead to injury or more damage. RWD lambos always have a plug in the front wheel hubs to keep them together, as they did not want to redesign the front, and it is cheaper to just install a plug. Welcome to the club. Guess how I know...

Classic running with no driveshafts; most (but not all) wheel bearings need the driveshaft in place to provide the compression and support that the bearings need to hold together. Run without shafts and you’ve discovered the results… Even moving short distances without the shafts can be catastrophic for bearings

Hardly, User error on the bearing failure, removing the driveshaft left the bearing without support, need to at least leave the cv joint in to avoid bearing failure, thats why they leave the cv joints in the front axles when converting 4wd to rwd. Certainly not a project for the faint hearted though and deep pockets, will be sweet when its finished though.

Unfortunately I knew the moment you said you were taking the driveshaft out that your issue would be the wheel falling off. The axle nut doesn't just hold the shaft in place, it holds the wheel bearing together. I almost learnt that the hard way as well. Is that the side you didn't have a brake rotor on? If so, that's a small silver lining. Would hate to see you lose another.

@a1topdogАй бұрын
But he will be offsetting some the cost against his KZbin revenue, hopefully making it a viable repair.
@Mac_F87Ай бұрын
It will cost more for sure. For anyone else it would make zero sense. That’s not that big an issue when it’s being done on a KZbin channel for content, as well as probably being up for grabs on Compete For Cars when it’s done. I’m sure Dean knows what he’s doing and has weighed up the variables.
