Hi, if you want to improve the cooling you need to push the ejector button on that fan. If what I saw is correct, it looks like one of those aftermarket flexi things. They are absolute rubbish, and especially don't work well when running a shroud. Though expensive, the OEM type clutched fan is the way to go. They move lots of air and are designed to work with the shroud. Alternative would be electric fans but that needs a bit of fab to setup correctly
@thedrivewayC3Ай бұрын
@@brockbenson4603 I have the OEM fan, just would need an adapter to get it to fit the 3rd party WP pulley.

You have done an awesome job on this car. I don't like the flex fans. One of the first cars I ever restored was a 1957 Chevy Bel Air. It had a flex fan on it when I purchased it and the car always ran hot. I replaced it with a stock fan with a clutch and the over heating problem went away.
@thedrivewayC3Ай бұрын
@@timewiththedurbins Thanks Mark I would love to use the OEM fan, but the bolt hole pattern that mounts to the water pump pulley is not the same size as the new pulley. I had to get the new water pump pulley to match the new crank pulley, which I had to get to match the spacing between belts for the power steering and AC compressor pulleys. So, now that I’m adding these new components, it’s become very difficult to find parts that all match one another, and still fit on a older car. If you have any advice about how to get the clutch fan mounted, please let me know. I am all ears and looking for solutions. Thank you so much.

@@thedrivewayC3 I would check to see if the original fan can be redrilled to fit the new bolt circle. If you can let me know what the new bolt circle is, I will check to see if the old fan can be redrilled to fit it. If you can't find someone local to drill it for you, you could send it to me, and I will do it.

@ Thank you! I actually just drilled the new aluminum double WP pulley, since I had modified the WP to make that pulley align with the New triple crank pulley. I’m about to post a video on all that. I really appreciate the offer. 👍🏼

@@alberthodge631 Lots of guys say they run hot, but it was below 200 before and now it’s a little over, so not sure if the pulleys changed something, or adding the PS pump did it. I’ll have the OG mechanics on it.
